Shen's SS and the Vastaya

It appears Shen does have a connection to the Vastaya for this line in Xayah bio there is this line: "The haunting melodies transported her to a long-forgotten time, when the spirit realm danced freely throughout the physical world" And feel free to correct me if I am wrong but ain't Shen kinda connected to the Spirit world (or at least his sword). I don't think it means that he is a Vastaya since this is a tradition in his family to keep them separated but might mean that Shen and Xayah might be in odds no?

Shen is not Vastayan but he is a guardian of the balance between the two realms (planes/dimension). -And yeah-- Xayah is not fond of him or his order-- she wants change.

Thank you for the reply, I gathered as much from the short stories but if I may ask. Do Xayah and Rakan know of Shen, Akali and Kennen, or do they only know of Zed? and how exactly is Shen a guardian, like do the monsters he fought in his Bio and short story affect the Vastayan in any way?

The Eye of Twilight was originally a title held by his father, Kusho. When Kusho was killed by Zed, the title of Eye of Twilight passed down to Shen. It's for this reason that he cannot enact revenge on Zed, as much as he wants to. He needs to maintain balance, and to take up on his revenge would be to imbalance both the natural order and himself.

Thank you but that is not my question. I am asking about the monsters he fights in his short story and bio. Examples being: "innumerable clashes with the Seven Demon Clan throughout Ionia’s physical and ethereal planes" or the "loathsome skin devourers from the Black Steppes" both included in his lore. My question is are the spirit realm and magic realm the same, do the demons from those places have some connection to the Vastaya and do they hunt them down, and would Shen protect the Vastaya from them. To make an estimated guess, I'd say there isn't such thing as a 'magic realm'. However the spirit realm is swamped with the essence of magic, so it would be more accurate to see them both as the same realm, you would be making a correct guess in that sense.

Just like there is malevolent beings in the physical realm of Runeterra, it would stand to reason that there would be malevolent entities within the spirit realm. I believe that demons would be very, very loosely connected with the Vastaya, in the idea that their powers and such originated from the same place.

Demons would appear to feed off of their prey. So they would hunt anything that they could reach, such as in Lux's short story. Nocturne was portrayed as a Demon who fed off peoples' fear by giving them horrifying nightmares. I think the prey to the demon makes no difference, Human or Vastaya. If Shen was aware, then it'd be most likely he would try his utmost protect the Vastaya from them, especially if they were innocent. It seems likely too, since in Xayah & Rakan's short story, the Kinkou Order seem to hold an agreement with the many Vastayan tribes.

Pretty sure that Xayah and Rakan just straight-up hate any Ionian

I think its humans overall but I am trying to see what the story overall will lead us to

They tend to look down on humans overall, but Rakan has nothing but nasty comments for Ionians
