Is there no chance of otherworldly beings anymore in League's new lore?

Outside of Aurelion Sol and the Aspects, is there no chance that we might get, say, a Champion who comes from a super-advanced high-tech race? For instance, a super-soldier who uses high-tech weaponry that goes into sci-fi territory rather than fantasy. Or would that be jarring for the setting?

If it's the latter, I can live with that and we can use skins as a source for that. Still, it'd be interesting to have someone who's technically an alien (like a Klingon) and not technically a fantasy monster (i.e. the Void monsters).

There are skinlines that support this. But likely they will leave it at that.

Bard is pretty otherworldly....or maybe he's more "everyworldly". Cosmic spirits of unimaginable power fall into that category, right?

Soraka also counts for the moment since her lore hasn't been updated yet (though Reav3's said she's coming in the near future), and her home isn't of Runeterra.

I'd say Kayle and Morgana are better suited for remaining otherworldly as well considering I can't think of a logical way to keep them in the current setting as angels without making them human at some point or kinda diminishing their power levels.

Soraka's universe page has her in Ionia interestingly. I wonder if they are going to connect her to the man-animal hybrids in the World Tree's grove in Ivern's lore.

Likely because of the strong connections she's always had to Ionia since that's where her grove is linked to in a traversing dimensional boundaries sense. Soraka doesn't really count as a chimeric being really since she's predominantly blue skinned, has the bottom half of her legs belonging to ungulates and a horn that doesn't seem to be made of traditional harm material. I could be wrong here but I feel they're definetly gonna keep her connected to the wider cosmos even if she is more conceptually, narratively and literally grounded than her contemporaries.

Not to mention, Sol's quote for her doesn't imply in the slightest that they intend to remove her cosmic origin. I would hope the lore team has their stuff together for the long haul and thus champions that have been coming out are falling into place, instead of making up lore on the fly.

Random crazy idea: What if Kayle and Morgana end up being two actual Targonians? We've been told that Sol's crown is losing power due to some unseen conflict among them, and what Kayle and Morg have got going on totally counts as a conflict.

I feel like Kayle and Morgana being their own thing is a better angle, at least from my own personal stance on things, though I could see a Targonian connection; their homeworld is one Targon encountered, tried to fight against or is in an alliance with? Different angles that could be pursued.

Though I do like entertaining the idea that perhaps Soraka, Kayle and Morgana entered Runeterra via Mount Targon, considering it seems to be linked to a whole bunch of places in the cosmos, not just Targon itself.

Either way the question of "If Kayle and Morgana stay otherworldly what's their deal with Targon?" is one that'll be important in the future.

We could throw the Darkin in this as well.

Perhaps Kayle and Morgana's race was at war with the Darkin, and now only a few of them are left.

Maybe, though I'm still running down the head canon track of the Darkin having ties to the Targonians before they became all celestial and stuff. A possibility though certainly.

hadn't cross my mind but what about Velkoz can't get more scifi then a tentacle monster that shoots particle beams. he can also create touchable hologram screens, pretty scifi to me. hes clearly more advance then any other voidling and like rek'sai, has to have a race from which he comes from.

something in the back of my head however is telling me that rek'sai is a exception and voidlings in general are all unique, don't know where i heard this but thats something to consider.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a race of super-advanced people. We're talking about the original Targonians. We could very well see one of them, although I'm not sure how it would work at all.

The 'myth' is that the original Targonians live in the 'Olympus' version of Targon in a pocket dimension. But we don't know if they still have human bodies, it may very well be that they are pure energy hence why they need aspects / 'vessels' to interact on runeterra. So I think if we got an ancient Targonian champ it may just be another aspect similar to Pantheon.

Doubt we'll be seeing that. Targon was described as one of the more advanced races and they are only using magic.

EDIT:With that I mean that I doubt that we'll get such a high-tech character,characters from other worlds are indeed possible,especially since the Targonians are a space faring race and likely have some other races as enemies who are present on more than one planet.

Well, Janna is a wind goddess in her lore. She's goddess of the disenfranchised and the underdogs (basically, all of Zaun), and she used to be a goddess of fair weather that sailors looked to for protection and safe passage (before the building of a canal).
