I understand that Twitch and Rammus are the first and only of their kind as intelligent anthropomorphic animals, but what about the others?
Are there are other gumihos/kitsunes like Ahri in Runterra?
Is Wukong the only human-intelligence level monkey from the Plague Jungles?
What about Rengar's species?
Horidas1 votesI think there was a lore passage somewhere about there actually being quite a few of Twitch's kind. Rengar and Rammus have pretty vague lore on the matter, and I think Wukong and Ahri are anomalies created, or caused, by magic.
Fasmodey1 votesAhri's case is something rare. She had interest to humans, which may be means she thinks different than her kind. It's not enough, being interested doesn't chance you directly. You have to be close to an dying human. When it happens, it gives her extreme pleasure. May be it's not something other foxes love.
Ahri has a lot reason to be unique of her kind.
SlyTactician 2 votesIn Ahri's situation, it's unlikely that other foxes would be gifted with her appearance as she literally wished for the desire to become a human and was given the opportunity through the power of some incredible magic. However, it is tragic on her part as well as she never truly transformed into a full human as she must consume souls in order to complete the transformation - but even then, her lore mentions that she's slowly getting the human emotions of guilt which would be difficult on her considering that she didn't feel these emotions as a fox.
Rengar's species is a complete mystery considering that he was raised by a human and it isn't even stated as to whether or not he actually met another member of his species while growing up or not. Other characters like Alistar, Anivia, Volibear etc are pretty much the representatives of their species. The fact they represent their species makes it hard to really create another character of their species as it would make the primary character lose their original purpose.
Even in the case of the Yordles, Teemo, Veigar and Tristana all had unique traits about them that made them stand out. Additionally, with the yordles being a unique species to Runeterra - it gives an opportunity to create more of them with different personalities.
That being said, I would like to see other humanoid animal characters in the near future. I find them very intriguing.
