The Bilgewater event last year was friggen amazing. I love everything from the interactive quests for icons to Black Market Brawlers with my favorite thing being the new music and Gangplank announcer. Just incredible. I would love to see the Void get a similar event. Malzahar, Vel'koz or Kassadin could be the announcer even. The Lore was awesome too, and i would love to see how a Void Invasion of sorts would be handled

The Will that Sol felt was obviously intelligent. So are the Voidborn. Intelligent things don't just go around destroying stuff for kicks and giggles. They have reason for what they do. Something motivates them. So here's a completely random concept based in part on Cho's selection quote.
"Death will not be the end for you. I have seen to it. For eternity, you are mine."
Imagine for a moment that the Void is a place wholly alien to the structured universe of Runeterra. We already know that Voidlings don't react quite right to physical forces they don't really 'get'. Sol told us as much. So let's take that a step further. In the Void, physical law does not exist in any way we could relate to. There are no external physical constants. There is only Will. What is 'real' becomes a plastic, flowing thing shaped by the Wills that inhabit the Void. These Wills consume, but nothing ever really dies. They're just drawn into the purpose of the stronger Will.
What would such beings see in a world like Runeterra?
"Such... hideous creatures..."
They would see a world calcified in form. Seared by burning light and suffocated by smothering law. A place where the pitiless, merciless march of unyielding physical reality destroys Wills. A place where Wills cease to be, where their rotted, festering remains are gorged upon by Nagaboros and vomited back out as mockeries scoured of the minds that once were. A place where things perish and cease to be. A place where Wills wither under the tyranny of unfeeling rules that serve only to perpetuate an endless cycle of purposeless suffering.
If any of the Wills that dwell in the Void are capable of feeling anything like empathy, how could they allow such a hideous, existentially terrifying place to continue existing when it's within the realm of their ability to end it?
And end it they will.
In the only way they know how.

I would suggest reading The Killing Joke for better insight into his character.
Even in the most warped cases where things are causing suffering for mere pleasure, that's still a reason. And killing things because you're hungry is certainly a reason, too. However, 'eat all the things because I'm all the hungry' is a really shallow, uninteresting motivation. I would rather like it if Riot steered away from such banal tropes and shot for something a little more nuanced. Hopefully they manage to pull off the same with Noxus.

Okay, that's fair, probably a poor choice of words on my part.
While blowing things up just cuz might work as the motivation for a single mentally disturbed character (hi 
), I would really prefer a similar level of depth be avoided on the motivations for a whole faction.
Wanting to eat all the things because he's all the hungry works for Kog because he's rather explicitly a young Will and he's still trying to make sense of this very alien world he got dumped into. Honestly, of all the various Void beasties, Kog and Vel probably have the most room for interesting character development.
I'm just dreading that Riot won't expand on their respective characters. Or worse, apply Kog's childish 'eat all the things' motivation to the Void as a whole. There's just so much room with the Void to use it to tell an interesting story from a viewpoint very different from the ones we're use to.

Yup! It's not a new idea by any means, but the trick with any idea is to use it in an interesting fashion.
Villains with a compelling motive for doing what they do are far more interesting than villains that are just destroying stuff for the evilulz. At least in my opinion. Especially because these are characters that people play as. Knowing what motivates your favorite champ is cool. Take Jhin for example. We know why he does what he does. He's compelled to create his 'art'. Which is as tragic as it is horrifying. And he's a more interesting character for it.

Depends on what you mean by 'weaker' I suppose.
When a Void critter manifests on Runeterra they are at least partially subject to the laws of physics. They seem to be able to bend them. And some Void critters appear to be able to break a few rules completely (
"What's this 'gravity' you speak of?"). I would imagine a really powerful Void critter would likely be able to do thing like flagrantly ignoring Newton's laws of motion, which would make harming it effectively impossible.
In the Void, however, they would be totally unbound. A naked Will. They would be able to dictate reality around themselves, provided another more powerful Will isn't decreeing something else. A human that got dumped into the Void would probably get warped by it (Kass) or be subsumed into the Will of something nasty (Malz). But physically fighting a Void critter on their home turf would be like trying kill the ocean by slapping it with a pool-noodle. Hilarious to watch, but ultimately futile.

Certainly possible. It could make for a pretty sweet plot point.
Though the Void critters would probably have home-turf points since they know how things work there. For someone who isn't use to it, it would probably seem like seething, incomprehensible chaos. If someone already had a nasty thing with its attention on them, they would probably get Malz'd in a hurry.
I suspect that Kass escaped with his Will mostly because nothing was looking for him. He just stumbled into the Void and realized in a hurry that he needed to get the hell out.

Almost wonder if a few rioters had possibly read the series way back when, as even early on a lot of the void creatures had a fairly similar thing going on as they do now.
BTW, the series is pretty good, and I'd recommend reading it, if nothing else than for Bartimaeus's humor, and the lore of that world is really well fleshed out.

Fun fact: the canon name for the place djinn come from is djinnestan (no, seriously). Though it's more of an Otherworld sorta place than anything else. With their own nations and their own cities and everything else. More or less like another Earth that exists contemporaneously with ours. That said, I can't think of any author who uses djinn in their works that sticks to the original mythology.

Like I said, it isn't a particularly uncommon concept. It's basically what you get when you take the concept of Lucid Dreaming and apply it to an actual place. 's probably one of the most compelling ways to make a realm of primordial chaos/creative potential 'work' in a fashion that people can grasp. Because after all, everyone has dreams. And most people have managed to exert their will on a dream at least once. It gives it JUST enough grounding in reality that it feels 'right' as a concept. And best of all, it's incomprehensible in a way that's unsettlingly familiar.
But who knows what Riot will end up doing with the Void. We might just get totally not Tyranids from a universe that is spooky and purple but otherwise material. Which would be a real shame when there are so many other ways it could go.

Riot has said that Cho isn't Kog's daddy. They've also said (I forget where) that Kog's dad wouldn't work as a champion simply due to sheer scale. And considering how big Sol is, that's saying something.

UomoAfide5 votesIf i recall correctly, years ago Riot stated that they didn't want to use a supposedly powerful entity like Kog Maw's dad as a champion. Perhaps that changed, after all Aurelion Sol is the same thing in terms of champion creation. We'll see.

In general I think despite how awesome it is, the Void is very hard to write about. While Noxus/Shurima are full of human intrigue and politics and whatnot, the Void has, in total, 2 humans and the rest is monsters.
The best that could be done will be straight Lovecraft fanfiction, because this is what the Void lore originally is. Unless, of course, other factions are involved.

For example Diana and Leona teaming up to fight void creatures in the next Targon event, Kassadin hunting down Malzahar in the next Shurima event, Kha and Rengar fighting in the background of any event. However none of these void stories tie together well enough to really deserve their own event because the void is kind of this nebulous group of champs who really only serve as villains in other stories.

What the hell is wrong with Kassadin's voice? I think it's fine just the way it is. Besides, why do you want him to sound like some guy behind a mask? His voice has little to nothing to do with his mask. Notice how Malzahar sounds weird without wearing a mask? That's because the Void changed it, not any silly mask.

i would expect them to release a new champ with this but who could it be? a new creature ' type? or perhaps kassadins daughter taken as sacrafice into the void and turned into a monster?
another thing being they would really have to explain what the void is? what it looks like? is there some sort of system there or is it just a jungle of monsters? what shade of purple is it? there would have to be a lot of explaining needed especially if its gonna be described only through short stories
i can also see the void event being the very last thing that is somewhat of an "endgame" for all these other lore events happening most of them have had some sort of mention of the void so perhaps some final confrontation will happen that involves it
regardless i not only hope we get one but i expect one :3

The lore right now is pretty ambiguous about the void and they can't really fix that because letting us look into the void will destroy the maddening unknowability of the place. The most interesting thing they can do narratively with the void creatures then is talk about what they've done since coming to Valoran.
But, since Malzahar and Kassadin were humans originally we can actually delve into their pasts. They could lump in some other champs with disembodied lore that fit (maybe Shaco? Some encounter with the void left him mad but able to jump around dimensions (void walk) and spawn voidling traps... idk)
I do think a good event might be the opening (or attempted opening) of a great door to the void to loose a powerful creature upon Valoran (Baron?). Yeah it'd be similar to Oblivion, Dunwich Horror, Supernatural early seasons, etc, but everything is similar to something.
