So I'm Curious About If Riot Intends to Finish All the Story Narratives at Some Point
By that I mean, are we ever going to see the conclusion to some of these narratives or are they just going to be left to interpretation?
Let's take just
for example. He's connected to several champions in the lore as it is, and all these connections would be resolved eventually based on certain things that occur.
Here's a list of all his connections (that I know of):
Murdered
's father (supposedly) and now
has to deal with him in some manner
Connected to
and
by default because of
Was master to Kayn, and depending on what happens to Kayn with Rhaast, the result of their connection is up in the air
Is apparently fighting
and
over his usage of magic which is corrupting Ionia
More of a fan concept than anything "canon," but the connection with
would need to be addressed
Then you have
whom Zed tried to kill when he was younger and it could be Jhin wants revenge or Zed wants to finish the job, as seen in the short story about the two and Shen
Eventually, there has to be a conclusion to all these events right? I mean,
and
can't coexist forever, and eventually it's going to come down to a final duel between the two. Or maybe Kayn will show up as a shadow assassin after conquering Rhaast and challenge Zed for leadership of the Order, assuming Rhaast doesn't take over Kayn, and if that happens, does Zed feel obligated to stop him? Does this pull
into the fray alongside his Darkin brother?
What about the vendetta that
has with
and all of Zaun's barons now? Urgot doesn't seem to be the guy to sit around and just not act on his passions, and eventually he's going to either fail and die or he will "liberate" Zaun and the return to Noxus to face Swain. As far as the narrative goes, Urgot is on a path where he will live and the others will die or vice versa; no middle ground exists. Assuming he does return to Noxus, what happens then? Do
remain loyal to Swain or do they act on their own plans? What's really going to happen when and if Urgot returns, not to mention if Demacia is introduced into the scenario.
What about
's quest for redemption? Is he going to find the killer or will he die along the way? If he does find the killer, does he win the duel that will surely follow, and does that succeed in bringing about absolution and redemption?
Then we have
and
all fighting for control of the Freiljord, and eventually someone has to win, right?
My point in asking all this is that, eventually, every story has an ending, and I just want to know if these arcs are working towards an actual ending. I enjoy the ride of a story just as much as anyone else, but eventually, I want a conclusion, regardless of whether it's the one I want or not. I'd like to see
redeemed and reconciled with
, but if Zed refused to turn from the shadows and Shen was forced to kill him or if Zed destroyed Shen and his allies and corrupted Ionia completely, then so be it. I feel like Urgot has been driven mad and probably needs to be stopped, but if he successfully takes over Zaun and conquers Noxus, then so be it.
I understand the idea of leaving it open as no ending would satisfy the millions of fans, and everyone wants to root for their favorite champion, but it would be irritating to never reach the climax of these great stories and never know what happens, you know? It would be like reading all of the Harry Potter books and then Deathly Hallows never being released, so you'd never know if Harry ever defeated Voldemort. Sure, you could think or argue that Harry could do it, but you'd never know, and that in my opinion wouldn't be satisfying after all the build up and anticipation. Even something as simple as
x
x
ought to have it's own conclusion. As these arcs progress, I see a bigger issue growing of a massive cataclysmic event(s) that will occur, and I feel there would need to be delivery on all the anticipation and hype other than, "You decide the ending."
Let me know what you guys think. I was just thinking over all this while reading about Urgot (super hyped btw) and Kayn and just wondered if there was going to be an actual end.
Thanks for reading fam.
