What champions have no real lore that you believe have a lot of potential?

My vote goes to Sona. There is so much mystery surrounding Sona and her etwahl, and this could be used to create all sorts of good stories. Is the etwahl evil? Is Sona evil? Which one is really in control? Maybe they are not even two entities, but rather Sona's soul lives in the etwahl, like Irelia's does in her blades.

Sona's may speak telepathically in-game, but as far as we know she can't do that in-lore. In-game she's happy, because she finally gets to communicate with someone (the summoner), but we really have no idea what Sona's personality is like outside of this interaction. Most of the fanbase seems to consider Sona to be one of "the good guys", but why? No one knows what Sona's motivations are.

Overall, I find Sona to be a very eerie character, and I'd love to see more of her in the lore. [sona-playing]

His lore is "The Void exists. I am from the Void." And that's it. So much room for awesome.

Call me biased if you want, but

Hear me out. Her lore is mostly not even about her. It's 3 paragraphs long, and 2/3 of it is about her parents without even a passing mention of Annie. Her whole lore is a few sentences long if you exclude the 2/3 I just mentioned. The thing is, with Riot's artwork, it makes me think there's more to the story than the lore team has let on. There's probably some conflict/miscommunication between the story writers and art directors, but I'm siding with the artwork on this one. It depicts Annie standing in the center of what looks like a burning village/forest while blankly staring at a kneeling man in front of her. That's just OOZING with creative potential.

TLDR: The few drawings of Annie by Riot are 100x more inspiring/interesting than the lore they gave her.

Had her lore completely invalidated with lore update. From a lore point of view, she's in dire need of an update.

Both of their lores are completely busted atm since they're both heavily related to the no-longer-existing Institute of War. There are so many rooms for their lore potential given their themes, even though they seem to overlap a bit but I'm sure writers can get around it nicely as long as they're explored separately and developed to their merits.

Is also probably THE most mysterious figure on the entire roster. It would also be very cool indeed to have some development on this guy. Because the only thing we know about him, barring his other old and now not-applying lores and speculations, atm is that he's very good at weapons, he is from a city that had fallen ages ago to the void, he seems to have been mutated by the void, and he really loves eating eggs especially the ones made in a corner store in a Shuriman city (not sure if the place still exists), which aren't exactly saying that much.

Those are just the surface, there are many champions whose lore is either straight up non-existent or sorely needing developments. I hope Riot can give them more screentime and development.

, there is SO MUCH damn potential in this character. They'll probably have to give him a VGU one day and I'm ready for his new lore. His lore is already horrifying, eerie, and pretty mysterious but given the cosmic nature of the universe we now know about as well as the Void wars, Rune Wars, etc., there's so much that can be done with Zilean.

Runner up is , I love how instead of being hungry for food like all the other Voidlings he is hungry for knowledge, especially about .

He is slated for a VGU, but that may take some time. And since Ornn's release, I want them to tell us about the earthquake Shuriman demigod of OKness.

All we got is a report from people who encountered him a single time. Unfortunately he got left out in the Zaun lore update. I want to read more about his mischievous plans.

Same situation like Twitch, he got left out. We got the story related to Warwick, but I want to read more about his actual goal. How he is trying to achieve immortality.

All we know is that he is Lissandra's servant. We could get stories about troll society. Or how he is leading a warband. Just something.

I would think Soraka. Her lore is still old retconned lore, but now with the addition of Aurelion Sol, they could really make her have a bigger presence in the League universe.

Most of these are either not explained after the Institute got demolished or they just aren't doing anything right now

As of the League retcon, Varus has been idly sitting by forever locked in tandem against Noxus.

Rammus. I want to see the goofy stories that led to people hosting a festival in his honor with people rolling themselves through the streets like Goron's.

Im interested to see if they will be connected to each other in anyway since they are all mysterious and use the terror mechanic.

Leblanc and Jax have lore though.
