Aurelion Sol needs to say this when he buys Ravenous Hydra

SpecterVonBaren··15 votes·5,970 views

I remember a long while back, someone made a mock up of how they envisioned Ao Shin's kit and dialogue and one of the item comments he wrote was just golden.

"Ravenous Hydra? She sure was..."

C'mon Riot, you NEED to have Sol say this.

EDIT:

Aha! Found it.

I hope that riot wont go full Reksai with his VO

I think that a supposedly-majestic dragon like Aurelion Sol needs to have a real Voice over, filled with words and everything.

Gotcha covered on that front.

"Honestly I think Ao Shin shouldn't speak at all. To give him that sort of ethereal being feel that Bard has, something above mortals."

I have to agree with this comment... or maybe hybrid? human voice and bard-like voice?

or just give him a shit ton of filters but you can still make out what he's saying

I want a Smaug type of voice. The almost purr of power that I like to call it. His voice rumbles in his throat and makes him have that intimidation factor that makes others afraid for their very life when they hear him. Everyone knows who it is when he speaks.

I think it'd be cool if they had the Jhin/Sona Treatment. you/your team can hear Aurelion speaking but the enemy only hears a dragon roar. I also hope that Aurelion is a girl as unlikely as that will be

No I'm pretty sure it's a guy, plus they have a female dragon in shyvana. Making another one I think would make her pointless

Think you could just sliiiiiiiiide this quote idea to whoever is working on Sol if you can?

As much as I love Bard and Gnar, I'm already really tired of champions who don't say any words.

I'm assuming he's probably going to be AP based, soooo I don't know why he would buy a ravenous hydra, but if he is AD, then that would be funny.

I try so hard1 votes

I think it would be neat if he had both AP AND AD scalings ( Favoring AP )

He's not melee! He's a traditional mage

SpecterVonBaren2 votes

We currently don't know anything about Sol other than that he's a dragon.

Bultz1 votes

I'm hoping he is both, what's a dragon without his teeth and talons

Based on his name (translating to "Golden Sun"), he will probably be released with the Mount Targon event along with the Taric rework.

Generally we prefer to avoid making two of the same class in quick succession. In this case though we felt Kindred was an unusual case, since they're generally strongest in a position many marksmen players won't play. Kalista was the marksman before that, and she's got a playstyle that can be pretty love it or hate it too. We felt there was a good case for another marksman in the spot after Illaoi as a result, feeling there were a significant number of players who hadn't had a marksman that worked for them since Jinx.

As far as mages go we're with you though that, depending on what type of mage you like, it may have been a very long time since a new mage came out that fit your playstyle too (traditional caster types, rather than hybrids like Azir). We concluded getting a true caster mage into the lineup for 2016 was important as a result, and have one under development at the moment. Not appropriate to say anything about timeframe besides 'definitely this year' yet, working actively on filling the need for such a champ though.

I'm placing my bet that this is referring to Aurelion Sol.
