Saddest Champion Lore?

If you ask me, I'd have to say it's probably Yorick. But you don't really get that without his review for the league

> "Yorick could barely recall his early years in the Shadow Isles, diligently tallying the passing days, then months, then years. When the inner walls of his cave were nothing more than a maelstrom of crooked lines, he stopped. There was no more point to counting days in death than counting breaths in life. He wondered briefly how many lifetimes he might have tallied – another utterly useless exercise. " > > "The shovel rested neatly atop the body, clasped beneath its folded arms. The face -- that face he should have known -- was his own. It was the face of innocence, hope, sadness. It was a face so early on its journey, already convinced it had seen the end. > > And Yorick didn't even recognize it. " > > " Normally, I would stand here wearing the face of someone you once knew, but it seems you've forgotten everyone. "

How sad that must be.

No one said Lucian ? Wow, people he lost his wife to a lantern.

Sad, definitly. But I'd honestly cry if i witnessed Soraka's. She gave up her immortality to help her friend, just so he could stab her in the back and want to take her heart for himself.

OMG i just readed the title, i was thinking "Well amumu becausWAIT"

And i realiced.

Amumu is Kindred.

Who is lonelly? Amumu.

Why amumu is lonelly? because he has no friends.

Amumu is the body of the death, wich in one point he make himself two, but the body of "death" was still arround.

That is why when Kindred Taunts amumu they say:

Lamb: "We understand your loneliness, but..." Wolf: "Stay away!"

Because if they got close to Amumu they will become one again.

Riven's lore is pretty sad, IMO. Being the only survivor of a biological bombardment and being forced to watch her brothers in arms die a slow and agonizing death, with the attack being sent by the very nation she was serving (technically by Singed, but at that point he was at Noxus' employ).

Zilean's Chronodisplasia, even if not properly explored, also paints a really grim picture. Having absolutely no control over what time you experience, being forced to watch hopelessly as your loved ones die because you were too far away in your perception of time to even notice something was going on, and going through life knowing that you can never connect to someone, because you know you will outlive them all, and in one minute you can be talking to them and the other you'll see yourself contemplating their grave. The only thing that controlled his disease was the Institute, but with them gone Zilean might truly be alone.

Orianna "dance with me, my pet. dance with me into oblivion" There's something unsettling and sad about her whole story but, she doesn't even have a reason to exist now due to the institution being gone.

Sion was brought back to life as nothing more than an undead monster. He hates what he is, but can't think straight enough for long to really fix it.

"Why do I feel...nothing."

Any poor child from Noxus, One can only Imagine what hell they had to go through, personally I'd would exclude Riven for being too damn whiny and Talon for being a rather cold bastard. Darius and Draven would be people that I would sympathize with because they at least have implied in their backstory that things were much harder for them than most other children with is saying something.

But in the end it's riot that have the final say on the story of the noxian children.

Amumu. It's reached the point where Runeterra's answer to Death, an entity which has also experienced the pain of being shunned by all the world, wants nothing to do with him.

Zilean Having to repeatedly watch as time goes by must be painful especially watching your home town and all the people you once knew turning to dust before your eyes without the ability to really interact without them and having to see it over and over again can honestly say would be a living hell to experience.

I am surprised I didn't see Nautilus lore yet. I mean, he first get betrayed by his former friends, get pushed into a weird black ooze, just to find himself on the oceanfloor in complete darkness fused with a diving suit. Even in his quotes you can hear how mentally damaged the poor guy is: "The endless march." "Forward. Forward." "Left to die." I would never want to have his fate (though big daddys are awesome)

I was going to say ammumu... but wow I didn't know that was Yoriks lore...

Darius Strada2/14/2016, 4:14:54 AM1 votes

I feel quite for Sion. They robbed him his well deserved rest in death, stripped him away from his humanity and force him to fight and he is only capable of having small glimpses of his former self while killing.

The irony here is that because the League is retconned, and the Institute of War does not exist, Amumu does not become a part of it. He never finds a friend (Annie ), never finds a home (The League of Legends), and his Tantrums become stronger for it.

It's safe to assume that Yorick has still continued his harrowing existence and forgotten everyone, even without a Judicator to acknowledge this. His story then just remains untold. If anything this ties him with Amumu for the saddest Lore; had the League still existed, he definitely would have taken the cake.

Olaf

The guy's story describes that he can't even kill himself honorably because he's too ferocious of a fighter. The guy just wants to die a proper warrior's death and can't.

That's really depressing.

Morgana Malzahar Maokai Yorick Poppy Galio

The change from old lore for Xerath to the new garbage is sad too.

GreenLore9/18/2015, 9:25:55 AM1 votes

Azir He was betrayed and killed by his best friend, for reasons he can't understand. His whole family and the kingdom he loved so much were all destroyed(even worse he had a vision of his families last moments),when he only wanted the best for his kingdom.

On a more speculative note he probably didn't have a good father either, since Xerath called his father a mad emporer, meaning that azirs childhood probably wasn't that nice either(considering that he almost died once,I think this is rather likely)

Then there is Amumu obviously.

A lot of Ionian's lores are pretty sad.

Then there are champs like Skarner and Maokai...

Lucian and Yasuo, especially Lucian. Honestly. Lucian lost the love of his life, but not only that, he's haunted by the idea that she is still in neverending agony. Senna is tormented, and Lucian, the once kind and warmhearted Lucian, is now here for one sole reason: vengeance. If he ever kills Thresh and frees Senna and countless other souls, you know what he's probably going to do? Kill himself. The only reason he's still alive is because Senna is still out there, oppressed and tortured. And Yasuo, has lost everything. Honor, trust, family (he had to kill his brother), a home.
