Do Items Still Have Lore To Them?

I mean I know not every item will have lore to them, and I think the Doran items have been retconned, but I'd like to see some story or reference to things like item 3153 and item 3146 .

item 3191 item 3025 item 3092 all have Freljord ties. item 3069 and item 3068 are really subtle Shurima references because if you look you can see the symbol of Shurima on them!

I'd argue some of these items are gonna be re-purposed or changed so that they better fit the lore.

No, game and lore have been separated.

There´s no Lore to support the gameplay anymore....for that we have to go to one of the 99,99999999% of games that actually think it´s important for lore and gameplay to support and enhance each other. But Riot wants to be special it seems.

Doran was put in a mental hospital.

Would be nice to have descriptions, but if lore is separate from gameplay...

So although these things aren't quite as in depth as the doran's story, we've been fed a few lore tidbits about certain items through voice-overs.

(careful as these link to some rather loud voice-over clips)

For example we have Karthus who gives us just the littlest peek into the Rabadons Deathcapitem 3089 by saying "Its old master served my patron well."
Who is karthus' patron and how did rabadon serve it?

Or another example is taking a look at the new champ Kalista and what she says about the blade of the ruined kingitem 3153 "Once, he was a noble king, until grief overcame his reason." "In the end, it was not his blade that stole our lives." "As once it symbolized hope, so now shall it incite despair!"

Although the voice-over lend themselves to being short and cryptic, you can still see glimpses of a bigger lore and world. So what do you guys think are these types of things satisfying?

Here they talk a little bit about aesthetic ties to factions.

I like to think that BotRK has something to do with Varus and his lore.
