I wonder what the price was for that deal. Implying Kench caught him alone from other Yordles and tempted him for one. Or is it? Yordles naturally have magic now. So maybe Veigar did not make a deal with him. But as speculation sees it, he did.
Veigar probably made a deal to get dark magic at the cost of losing something....maybe his sanity?

GenoXx1 votesIt's implied that Yordles usually don't stray away from each other when together or near other Yordles. You have cases like Poppy where she left on her own and it probably happened to Veigar. Kench(The River Demon) probably saw an opportunity to fish a deal from Veigar as soon as he saw a yordle by themselves. Yordles would never make a deal with Kench as long as they are together, or hear tales about the River Demon(Because I'm sure he has more than just the Bilgewater one) This is why I believe Veigar made a deal with Kench to gain dark magic. It's probably hard for a yordle to have innate dark magic. Veigar probably had some scores to settle, thus sought out Kench.
FloRaider421 votesThis is because of Yordles specific nature that makes them more perceptible to inner demons when socially outcast (explained in poppys new lore). When not, they are hard to be manipulated, which is why almost all Yordles are seen by this demon as rivals. Since Veigar is one of the few yordles that became evil and twisted (by noxian torture and years of isolation) he considers him an ally "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"
