The new champ splashes don't fit the nature of LoL

Recently, Riot has been making and releasing new champion splash arts and icons. I think this is all well and good, but the splash art's don't fit the feel for the champions. The splashes feel fierce and dark, even on champions who arn't fierce or dark. Wukongs new splash looks like something off of smite, or Dota, and it doesn't feel like its "Riot made". If you showed Wukongs splash to somebody who has never played league and asked them what dev made that art, they would say blizzard, or steam. Kayle doesn't look like an angel who fights for justice, she looks like someone who fights out of fury. Jarvans face in the new splash makes him look like he's constipated.

Tl;dr, New splashes don't fit the feel of the champs or riot games. http://www.surrenderat20.net/2014/10/1013-pbe-update.html

P.S., ahri's splash is actually a good improvement.

P.S., ahri's splash is actually a good improvement.

Ahri's splash doesn't even look like her. It has a visibly different facial structure from every other Ahri appearance. Ahri has a sharp chin and puffy cheeks, but here all her features are perfectly smooth and rounded.

It's as if the artist thought her breasts and thighs define her physique more than her face does.

TBH Kayle no longer looks like the awe-inspiring judicator who stands above the battle passing judgement upon her enemies. Rather she now looks like a female pantheon, especially when you look at her ingame icon which consists of only her helmet.

It's a similar issue with the new Wukong splash. His old splash embodied his lore as an enlightened monkey-king and the light of his species. Now he just looks like a mean beast looking for a challenge, which to be fair is what he was doing before he met Master Yi.

In case a red is reading this: I don't particularly mind how all of the new splashes are action poses. They genuinely look rather cool and highlight the defining abilities of the champion in game. They do however sometimes fail to embody the character itself which is rather disappointing and frankly bland when every champion has one.

With the recent splash art updates I'd rather say its the other splash arts that simply don't fit into the game anymore.
