I mean there's nothing wrong with the splash from a technical perspective, however I'm really not sure what riot was going for with that design and I feel like there could have been a lot better options they could have gone with. Her skin design doesn't even look particularly flashy like the other arcade skins. Busy, yes. A bit tacky, maybe. Flashy, no. Corki's seems right. I mean that skin looks like he belongs in a bullet hell shooter.

Stray Kat2 votesAhri was my first champ I ever bought with IP, and my first main.. And I have 3? 4? Skins for her.. But I'm kind've sad to see her get another skin. She gets so many of them, and there's so many champs that an arcade skin would go nicely on. Though, considering we DID get Arcade Ahri - I do sort've like it, I'm just against her having gotten another skin, especially being forced into the Arcade line.

I really didn't want arcade because I've seen tons of great skin ideas for Ahri that weren't arcade themed.
Fox McCloud's visual design... doesn't really work great with her. I didn't even pick up on the inspiration until someone told me.
Fox McCloud was also a bit unoriginal. I mean why not Megaman Ahri (Rock Ahri?)? Why not Samus Ahri? Why not Gaming Princess Ahri?
Why not something out of final fantasy or dragon quest? There are tons of stuff riot could have done within Arcade and they sold themselves short. It's like riot picked the first gaming fox design that came to mind and ran with it even if there were better things that could have been done.
Compared to Corki or MF's or Sona's or Hecaram's Arcade skins, this just didn't seem to turn out as well.
They could have gone darker and done a dark souls or bloodborne themed skin if they wanted to try other gaming ideas... Gothic Heroine Ahri would have been much cooler.

Honestly, with Ahri's Arcade skin, she looks like she's actually a gamer that somehow found her way into the game. At least, that's how I see it.
In fact, when you look at the skin preview, her recall animation is her jumping into an arcade machine, and her splash art is actually her entering into the world.

Ravenhale4 votesAcademy (750) was her last skin that was released around the end of August. We can't really argue she "just had a skin", though we could say other champions should have been considered first.
I think Ahri got picked on this one because she doesn't have a "top tier" skin in her collection. I think this was also the reason why Ashe and Katarina got picked for Project, whom both have similar skin pools.
