I read somewhere a post from a Rioter that said that there can be two versions of a champion's quotes: One that is just the raw recording, and the other that is run through a filter.
Varus was released before Zed, and was given a skin that had the voice filter removed.
If there was ever an unmasked skin made for Zed, would it be possible to remove the helmet voice filter? I would assume so, since Zed was made after Varus, but I'm asking anyway.

I suppose so, but the only unmasked Ninja we have seen is Akali. I think unmasking him would take some of his shadow ninja mystique.
EDIT: personally I kind of think under his mask.......he has no face.

Shen and Zed are the only ninjas without unmasked skins. Half of the line is complete already. Also, they don't have to be strictly unmasked skins (like Kayle.) They can just be coincidentally unmasked skins, like how Dragonblade Talon has no hood, and how Nurse Akali has no mask. It could be like a Rockstar Zed (to go with Popstar Ahri) where he has long black hair and a fringe over one eye. And "the mystique" isn't really an applicable excuse for not making an unmasked skin of Zed and Shen because the same exact thing could have been said for Akali and Kennen before they were unmasked.
