I think we're memeing. It would salvage it if the references were somewhat serious but everyone seems to be describing it like some high-school romance.
Maybe we'll get more when that Noxus event happens. Maybe even see what Kat thinks.
Maybe they should get a duo rework, into having a couple back and flirting throughout the game like rakan and xayah, which is cute af btw

I prefer to pretend that it is an open secret between the leadership of both countries.
They refuse to publicly acknowledge their knowledge to avoid having to act on it (angering both Garen and Katarina).
At this point Riot ships it more than we do.
