I don't care about champions being gay or not WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED but to change a champion's sexual orientation from Straight to Gay for the sake of doing a "story" baffles me.

His old lore expressed so much emotions and you could feel every redemption the dude had. Now when I see this new lore I don't feel anything but a romance drama novel. I've read the story, the comic, and I even watched the music video. It was more of a sad thing to see how Riot destroys a character than improving.

I'm glad that I didn't decide to main Varus, he was such a badass champion but knowing he's turned into this flimsy dude is just not my thing.

Also, since Riot has released all this and made it as their final decision, complaining or suggesting anything won't do you any good. This is now the new Varus and nothing about it will change. It's going to be there for YEARS.

I am genuinely curious on where do these many emotions reside on old Varus lore.

Varus used to have a story that has been done to death: A fridged family, a deal with the devil and a revenge arc.

Not only this setup is quite common and unoriginal, but in his case it brought nothing new to the conversation. There was nothing memorable about his family, the story gave no time to empathize with them, nor was Varus' grief explored in any compelling way, and the source of the corruption was not distinctive at all (it was literally a puddle of evil stuff).

Maybe what you are trying to say that they could have used the original argument to remake the story, which of course, they could. Most likely they even used it as a starting point.

But saying that the couple dozens of paragraphs on Varus old lore were badass is quite a big reach.

Technically speaking they turned Varus from a grief striken man willing to risk it all for a little revenge to a demon who consumed a couple in order to gain freedom.

Sadly you are right. TENCENT has won. They got everything and still they are not fed they must dismantle everything that was good about RIOT and then reform it into this what we get ...

No use fighting the monsters. Just like the Banks, President of America, list goes one ... list gets longer and longer as I get older. It's so hard to keep faith in this world when all things aren't safe not even something as simple as the champion that I fell in love with from his release and played hours on end with, no matter how many people tell me he was bad I said he will be seen someday as the beast he is.

This is what the LCS get's you ... take note anybody who cares about any champion that get's into the LCS play cycle meta ... the place where TENCENT attacks first.
