As someone who has felt the Shadow Isles have been neglected I gotta say, that was some good shit. I like the characterization of many of the undead continuously coming out of the Mist to finish a task before being thrown back in and becoming part of the legion committing horrors until they come back again.

Takes me back to my days of Halo Reach when my friends who had PS4 controllers designed for alien hands at their homes came over, and could never get used to Xbox. I ran them through countless times, and they could never win. They'd respawn and get rocket launchered, gravity hammered, gunned down, they'd try to run me over in ghosts when I had the armor lock ability, good times.

Also, I wonder why Thresh was alluding that our good friend Ledros was so odd compared to the other undead. Then Malicious Metal makes a post. Really makes you scratch your noggin because this guy's backstory didn't involve taking the power vacuum of the recently captured Darkin and building the Immortal Bastion to enslave the planet. Hmmmmm. Many recently updated champions include Mordekaiser and are tied to proto-Noxus, unless those are being retconned I'd say we're missing connective tissue. Plus Ledros wants to end the curse of undeath which seems unlike Morde.

Something seems fishy here. Hopefully all the new Isles lore is a sign Mordekaiser has been pushed to be next. I love me some enchanters but.... Mordekaiser.

Edit: Okay so I'm pretty sure that they can retain 90% of Mordekaiser's existing lore while adding on his past (The Echoes Left Behind etc.) if they have moved the timeline of the Ruination backwards significantly. As far as we knew, the Ruination happened after the Rune Wars, Void Fiasco, Darkin Downfall, etc., because Mordekaiser built the Immortal Bastion and was betrayed, his bones being sent to the Blessed Isles vault until the Ruination woke him up. However, if this Ledros guy leaves the Isles in search of a way to end the curse all that stuff could just happen afterwards. His liches could bind his mind to his armor and his bones to resurrection using the power the Isles already corrupted him with, untying him from the Black Mist. LeBlanc's betrayal could have something to do with him becoming reattached to the Isles or screw him over in some other way I'm not thinking of. The main thing people think of with Mordekaiser though, being an evil undead warlord who enslaves the known world, could now be tied in with the narrative of him becoming colder over time (leaving his Kalista pendant) in search of a way to save her at any cost. Perhaps somewhere along the way he even forgets Kalista and is warped into the entirely evil guy we know now and just becomes hellbent on world domination. Some evidence to that point is the line about Hecarim dying and coming back more warped than last time each time he died, perhaps as Mordekaiser fights countless battles in his conquest to rule the known world and dies thousands of deaths, he becomes a warped and evil version of himself.

I'm looking forward to the Mordekaiser gameplay where you run it down mid and die as many times as possible to become warped and get your 0/20 power spike. A cross between the scaling gameplay of Kayle and the playstyle of Yasuo, hype traiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Please please PLEASE let it not be a "Sylas"! (Edit: Or they can go "Full Sylas" and have Ledros be the incoming Enchanter, it wouldn't be bad xD)

He is rather similar to Mordekaiser (save for his weaponry) and I'd hate to have our current warmonger turned into a deluded damned lover.

I really liked the story though, the anguish it transmitted and the sense of hopelessness was well delivered, even more if this fellow Ledros keeps being a secondary character.

Now, there are several hints in the story that Ledros is quite similar to Mordekaiser, black gauntlets, spiked helm and the ability to leave the bist. He uses a sword, not a mace though, so I assumed they were different. Now MM makes a post alluding to a possible connection between Ledros and Mordekaiser?

I’ve gotta say, I’m not keen the amount of timeline rework they would have to do to make this a thing. Currently the Ruination takes place after the Immortal Bastion falls and is claimed by the first Noxians, so that would need to change. The Rune Wars would need to have occured before Mordekaiser, since he encounters Ryze (unless all rune mages are blue?). This is not even taking into account how Veigar fits into this.

The (first true) fall of Mordekaiser is important, it allows for Noxus to flourish and Veigar to escape. I’m gonna call BS, I don’t buy it. If Ledros is Mordekaiser, the amount of retconning already retconned material will be insane. It would give more credence to those who say “why get invested when everything can get changed at any time” and I am never a fan of that.

Unless I’m missing something obvious here that makes everything work.

I liked him. Kalista is my favorite ADC so it was cool seeing her not only mentioned, but also kicking major ass. Her connection to Ledros was really tragic. I now want to see a happy ending for them both.

By the way, did I read wrong or did Ledros “kill” Hecarim one/several times?

This guy is really stronk, also a good sword&board fight scene, wouldn’t mind to have him in the field if Riot can build a good kit out of it.

WAIT A MINUTE...

I realized something while I was writing this... Is Ledros part of the new Mordekaiser’s kit?

Like his new ult or passive? He becomes an ally of Morde because they both want to end the SI/Ruined king.

I loved his interactions with Thresh.

I mean Thresh will torment anyone, but I imagine he takes a special delight in going after the people who invaded his home and ransacked his vaults. And he didn't even need to lay a hand (or a hood) on Ledros to make him hurt.

Because Ledros did his job for him.

He needs a bittersweet ending.

Is Ledros part of Morde's kit? I feel like Ledros is part of Morde's kit.
