LoL and Sex Appeal: Who Should Keep It?

With Taliyah coming out, there's been another (constant) discussion about sex appeal in LoL. Riot have discussed making women more unique in the game. Different faces, bodies, and outfits. As far as new champions are concerned, I think it's been successful. Kalista and Illaoi have been well received, while Taliyah is a bit mixed. My opinion is that Riot can and should do whatever they want with new champions and skins. Pretty, ugly, classy or skimpy. A lot of people have been supportive.

What I generally see issues with is how Riot have been handling current champions. Between reworks and splash updates, fans have become divided. MissFortune has become more serious, and most fans seem fine with it, enough to want her game appearance to match the lore. I personally don't mind her serious side, but I miss her funny side. Katarina has the new face, which I remember people not liking. I like it however, since she seems, I don't know, rugged? Rough? I remember the Fiora controversy.

I've seen people upset with female champions losing attractiveness, and Taliyah. I've seen people upset that sexualized women still exist. So when I saw Riot comment on how they're fine with sex appeal, they just want champions to "own it", I was happy. They want sex appeal to be a part of someone's character, like Taric. I also don't think they mind champions being attractive, even if sex appeal wasn't their main goal, like Yasuo.

Out of all of the current champions, who should keep their sexiness? Who should lose it? If they continue to have sex appeal, should it be changed for something that's more in character?

As long as Rek'sai stays sexy, we're good.

Right up there with the owning the sex appeal.

MissFortune is pretty much MADE to be sexy. She deserves to keep it. Just add some actual lore so she doesn't end up too one-dimensional. Ahri Same as MF. Evelynn Again, a character whose sexualization is part of her character. Kindred Her hips confuse me. They didn't need to give those hips to a freaking sheep. WTF, Rito? Janna She confuses me as well. Her clothing is one of the most revealing in the game, yet she doesn't really "own it" as Riot says. But I've actually sort of mentally put her into more of a Sona personality. Jinx Don't change a thing about her, Rito. She's amazing as she is. I just want to bring up her showing a lot of skin... while still being crazy clothes. Her color palette is awesome. She flies in the face of social norms and that's just part of her character. Nidalee Did I mention it's mating season?

We we can pick apart A LOT in the roster.

At any rate... I like to think of it like what happened to Tracer in Overwatch. Her attitude just doesn't fit oversexualization like that booty pose they removed had showed. Perky, happy attitudes like, say, Lux? Imagine if she suddenly started doing a booty pose?

As far as Taliyah goes... yeah, she's still beautiful, those eyebrows add extra character. I'm going to hate if the fanbase sexualizes her, but it's bound to happen. She's more of the sweet little sister vibe to me, though. Also remember she's 16-ish. :P

Caitlyn Caitlyn's sex appeal is something that I think needs to be toned down. I think it feels like an add-on that isn't a core part of her identity. It also doesn't really seem to mesh with her more established personality traits. She seems like an organized "rules-are-rules" kind of person. I think someone from Riot teased a less skimpy Caitlyn, and I am personally really excited to see that come to live eventually.

Zyra I can see become less sexy. I get that she's supposed to be a hybrid plant lady, but maybe there should be more plant than lady.

I can live with Janna, if they can explain why she dresses like that. If they can't, then give her a robe or something.

Look, Taliyah as an Adult or even now will not be a "slutty" beauty, the girl is attractive and just because she doesn't have the "sexualised" look doesn't mean that she is not hot. She is the opposite of Miss Fortune. A modest girl that is good looks that would turn heads. But MF is a slut that fails at being remotely alluring. Fiora is on the same level as Taliyah even if she got the goods. good size breast, lovely legs, thighs and ass, be a type of beauty that is the most common but not failing being alluring.

So what does Taliyah and Fiora have in common? They are both conservatively dressed while still being beautiful as well as not trying too damn hard to be sexy that it fails like MF, hell. Fioras school teacher skins is an example of it being done right.

Another good example of someone to compare with Taliyah is Leona. Even in her Valkyrie skin and beach skin. she is dignified and not using the skin she is baring to titillate or flaunt what she has.

To be sexy means to have class when being promiscuous, to be beautiful is have being lucky enough to have something that makes you look good. And to be skanky means to be a promiscuous ass is neither exotic, or graceful.

AhriAkali Elise Evelynn MissFortune Katarina Leblanc should stay "sexy" as they are now, because of their lores. (In the case of Akali, since she is a ninja: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHlzYEu3UDI. and Katarina is the "face of lol", so she should stay like that)

Champs that should be "less sexy" could be: Vi Shyvana Kayle Irelia Orianna Riven Sejuani Draven )

On the specifics of Miss Fortune, I think the right choice was made.

If a character boils down to "flirty and sexual", some work is due, as those are more singular traits than an actual personality.
