Out of the 10 champions present in the cinematic, 7 are heavily related to Ionia, 2 are from Noxus and one is from Piltover.

I may not really care for any Ionian champ personally (except maybe Xin Zhao if he counts). But Riot’d be fools not to cater to the weebs. Their goal is to make money.
well if it makes you feel any better, Reav3 confirmed there will be no more new Ionian champions or VGUs in 2019. so we will be seeing a lot less of Ionia this year.
I'm over Ionia for now. They need to let the shit rest before browbeating us with it again. We are currently inundated with Ionian lore and characters, and we are dying of thirst for lore for other areas, like correcting the HORRENDOUS Lissandra bio they fucked up, expanding on Demacia's currently infantile lore, and giving us another highlight on the Shadow Isles, because it's been YEARS.

i think is because ionia feels so culturally rich compare to other areas of the world? very magical place. but riot should really show much more of other areas, i also hope that nexus blitz comeback and that it be set in bandle city or the jungle from neeko, then they should bring back butchers bridge, that way we have more areas in game that are part of the world? we need to see more of the cities of progress, i think, and demacia kinda looks generic
