That was because she was originally from the voodoo lands,which were far too small and underdeveloped to get their own universe page.

Her new short lore(which isn't on the universe page now anymore,but it was just recently released,so I doubt that it is gonna retconned) said she was from Noxus. And with the Swain update coming,it is likely that we'll get a Noxus-event,so it'd make sense that Annie would be retconned into a noxian champ.

It also seems they are trying to get rid of all the jungles, voodoowoods and stuff around Shurima and make it all Shurima. I believe one of the tips claims Rengar comes from Shuriman Vastaya Tribe, for example.

Voodoolands were a wasteland,not a jungle.

And overall it looks like the whole southern continent might be called Shurima,then that'd mean that if the jungles are still where they were before,they'd be part of Shurima.

She was from Noxus, but her family moved away as apart of a group that disagreed with the Noxian government (or something) so she grew up in the Voodoo lands.

Like I said,that was her old lore.

It was replaced by a new short lore:

Dangerous, yet disarmingly precocious, Annie is a child mage with immense pyrokinetic power. Even in the shadows of the mountains north of Noxus, she is a magical outlier. Her natural affinity for fire manifested early in life through unpredictable, emotional outbursts, though she eventually learned to control these tricks. Her favorite includes the summoning of her beloved teddy bear, Tibbers, as a fiery beast hellbent on destruction. Lost in the perpetual innocence of childhood, Annie wanders the dark forests, always looking for someone to play with.

As you can see,there is no mention of the voodoo lands anymore,so they were most likely retconned,while Annie was changed into a noxian champion.

The Voodoo lands are the mountains just north of Noxus. Her old lore was basically the same - family was leaders of a group of mages who were exiled from Noxus - either by choice or circumstance - and traveled north beyond the boarder to make their own little magical society where they could do what they wanted.

And they were described as an "unforgiving barren wilderness"

New lore doesn't mention Annie living in any other nation,the location is different,it doesn't tell us anything about her parents and it doesn't mention where she got the bear from.

Besides we are getting a Noxus lore update with swain,so it is pretty likely that Annie will be part of the Noxus-lore update,which in turn makes it pretty clear that she'd be considered a noxus-character.

I admit my memory was not correct. However, I don't think her blurb really changes anything - it still has the same relevant information as her old lore - child, fire mage, has bear, lives in wilderness near Noxus (was probably born in Noxus/is Noxian by birth).

I wish they would have expanded the voodoo lands a put a few of the other oddballs like Fiddle and Shaco in there rather than just retconning them.

I agree about that. I mean sure they would have needed to rename the voodoo lands,but I still think that it could have been cool to have a magic focused nation,full with dark nutjobs.

Alternatively they could have changed the aesthetics of the voodoo lands,to match Annie,making them some kind of twisted alice in wonderland nation.

Her new short bio linked her to Noxus, and the Swain VGU is coming with a wave of revamped Noxus lore, the same way Galio VGU came with Demacia lore, Warwick VGU came with Zaun lore, and Camille's release came with Piltover.

######They also came with sick regional summoner icons, and I've been dying for the Noxus one since Piltover's.

In all honesty, the death of Zac's parents felt kinda expected for his lore. It sort of adds another reason for him to continue on being a hero, it added a bit of an inner conflict with Zac (has to resist violent urges in order to not live up to the 'zaunite super soldier' that Takeda made him to be) and, personally, I always assumed they were killed.

But that's a whole other topic, I wouldn't count on seeing Annie's parents alive. Firstly, we never really heard what happened to them and secondly, we see from some of the Annie art what appears to be an older woman, possibly her mother, laying on the floor as Annie looks in horror.

Kassadins daughter would have been changed by the void. She would probably use void powers and be heavily mutated(malzahar has a third eye on his head and kassadin is at least blue)

Annie however has fire powers,nothing void related.

If she "came back" that implies that the Void didn't get a hold on her. And if Swain was referring to Kassadin's daughter, then that was a very odd way to phrase it. You don't usually hear of your daughter through a rumor.

Kassadin also "came back" and you can see what the void did to his body,despite the fact that he was wearing protective gear.

I really doubt that Kassadins daughter was able to emerge from the void unscathed. Besides Kassadin is from Shurima,so what would Annie do in Noxus?

Exactly.

Kassadin knows first hand how scarring the Void can be, even when prepared for it. He was twisted by it and very nearly made its slave; he came back by sheer luck even with how much he'd prepared. If Kassadin learned of someone who went into the Void, came back completely unscathed and had reason to believe it was true, that would very much occupy his interest, would it not?

As for Shurima/Noxus... Swain's line implies that he already knew about the rumor, and we know that Noxus has taken some of Shurima's port cities. So it COULD be a Noxian.

(I'm not saying this is definite or even likely, the idea is just kinda intriguing to me. It could also be a new champion, or heck, you could argue Nami as a possible candidate now that we know the darkness she's fighting is the Void.)

But that would mean that the girl came out of the void unscathed,which really wouldn't make sense,because of how dangerous the void is. Someone that is able to come back would already be extremely noteworthy,so someone who came back unscathed seems rather unbelievable.

Besides Annies short lore says she lives near the mountains north of Noxus,but Shurima lies to the south of Noxus.

My tentative predictions:

The source of Annie's powers will be directly related to a Noxian government project. (Extremely Tentative) Annie wasn't the subject, her parents were; Annie was a byproduct.
Annie's parents will ~~still be dead~~ now be dead, but as a result of Annie losing control of her powers. Noxians attempted to "clean up" the mess and Annie escapes in the confusion.
Tibbers is Annie's reaction to losing her parents at such an early age; a construct of primordial fire that she made out of her teddy bear "Mr. Tibbers".

Still be dead? I don't think it was ever clarified, or even hinted at, that her parents have died. At least as far as the old lore is concerned. Of course with the new lore, they could pull a Zac on us.

How much you wanna bet annie gets a VU before any of the champions that really really need it get one? she could honestly use a small update though...... you think a company that makes over 1 billion dollars a year could afford to put more teams on these old as fuck champions........... they probably have a good reason though and either they havent said it or i just havent looked for it.
