So like, Earlier this year i was totally expecting some Zaun/Piltover lore this year.
Guess I was wrong. Jhin has gone to Zaun and finished his contract, and Graves got is new gun i suppose.

This year? Then there's still September, October, November and December to get through. Who's year ends in September?!
Esports
Which esports? Because League's esports year ends in October, and even then there's All-Stars after that.
But, thats where the resources are going in in the next couple of months. So pretty much cant expect much lore
Completely different teams. The Esports and balance teams have literally 0 to do with the narrative teams....
But they all use the same company fundings....
...and? A company can have resources allocated in numerous places working independently from one another. It HAS to in order to get anything done. Live Balance eases off around worlds time because their actions directly affect the competitive scene, where as skins, new champions, reworks and lore don't affect competitive. Skins and lore don't have any baring at all and any new or reworked champions just get disabled for competitive; Yorick's gonna be disabled for this worlds.
The only reason things might stall and slow in other departments would be because they'd be watching Worlds themselves and as such it affects the company's culture, but that's inherently different from using funds or whatever.
I dunno what's everyone's optimistic level here, but I do predict based on current things. I just theorized on the Piltover thing. But summer is over, and I am only seeing Yorick rework and that one champion teased in the video. Then it's Worlds. I only refer it to E-sports all the time because I'm mainly lore, I even tried to "Inspire" myself watching Jhin's teaser and login lol before I play him.
All I'm saying is dude, it doesn't seem like we are going to get as much lore as some had hoped for.
This isn't about optimism, it's about setting expectations based on your own assumptions. If you're disappointed that the quantity of lore isn't meeting your expectations for the year then that's on you for raising those expectations. Being disappointed isn't bad when things don't turn out, but when you're like "Oh I set expectations based upon assumptions and now I'm gonna complain about it" I'm gonna turn around and be like "Well then temper your expectations better or find better ways of dealing with disappointment. As far as I remember there was never any promise of Piltover/Zaun lore this year by any narrative member, with WAAARGHbobo more teasing for the potential story beats that the short story could lead in to.
All I'm saying dude; temper your expectations better. You were so quick to throw your arms up about Yorick's rework being delayed when Ryze's came out despite the fact that they were done by different teams and as such having NO BEARING on each other, and now look where we are: Yorick out during the main season, which is beyond what most people expected. Just be a tiny bit more patient, understanding and conservative.
And also wait till the year's actually over before putting out posts like "Oh I was expecting lore this year involving X and because it's early September I guess it's not happening".
I mean still an improvement from last year really. I mean we going (hopefully) finish the complete shadow isle roaster. Riot had gotten majority of their major overhaul done, Shurima, Targon, Bilgewater and soon yordles. Personally I don't see a piltover update till maybe ww next year but I'm grateful for what we got.
Didn't we get a lot of lore around harrowing which is October despite Esport was the "hype" for riot. Don't be so pessimistic you never know what is up Riot sleeves.
Harrowing is no longer linked to October. The Shadow Isles do what they want at any time of year. That's why we got slayer skins last year at Halloween and a harrowing in November.
Neamean's referring to last year where we got lore around October time for Harrowing despite Worlds being a thing as opposed to just Harrowings in general.
Where's mah Harrowing?!
Dunno, I haven't seen it in a while. Sorry man.
People were expecting a void event too. Though the year is not over, so there's still plenty of time. But it looks like we might be getting a Yordle update next.
