Season 6 was, hands down, the best season for champions

In terms of their character, hence why this is in "Story, Art and Sound". This ain't about balance child.

But seriously, Season 7 hasn't even had anything close to Season 6 yet imo (except Kayn. Maybe Kayn). Including the preseason champions, Season 6 was definitely the highlight, with strong, unique characters being unleashed who, in my personal opinion, should never be reworked lore-wise. In the past, there's been the occasional bright spark, like Kindred, Bard and TahmKench.

SEASON 6

  • Illaoi Illaoi
  • Jhin Jhin
  • AurelionSol Aurelion Sol
  • Taliyah Taliyah
  • Kled Kled
  • Ivern Ivern

SEASON 7

  • Camille Camille
  • Rakan Rakan
  • Xayah Xayah
  • Kayn Kayn

It could just be the fact that a lot of these are mystical creatures, but I don't think so.

Illaoi is such a strong woman, almost Amazon-like, but not an Amazon, or even from Targon. She's from Bilgewater. Who, may I remind you, has only produced burly men and seductive women in the past. A fantastic blast, making Bilgewater seem like a legitimate, diverse place again.

Jhin did the exact same to Ionia, in my humble opinion. Ionia was a righteous place, with everyone doing what they did for [single character motivation]. Syndra wants power. Karma wants peace. Shen wants balance. Ahri wants men. But then Jhin comes out of nowhere, and wants death, love, romance, tragedy, whatever it takes to get a standing ovation. Jhin was a 3D character, a genuine psychopath who players love to side with.

Aurelion Sol made Targon whole. It was his release event which gave order to the mountain, and in doing so, fixing up all the affiliated champions.

Taliyah brought Shurima down to earth. Before her, Shurima was all gods and war in the desert. But Taliyah actually showed us the real people. Someone humble, and close to our hearts. Someone we could relate to. She made Shurima real.

Kled didn't actually fix Noxus. No he's just a genuinely lovable character. Like Jhin's hyperactive little brother, we love him to death because he's nuts. He didn't have to fix anything, he's just a fantastic character because of his attitude to everything

Finally, Ivern. Again, he didn't really show us a brand new side to a region by being a brilliant character. Instead, he gave us League's equivalent of Mother Nature. A fantastic perspective from which we haven't seen covered by League's other wildlings. Not even close. Before, the forest was a place to hunt. Now, Ivern makes it feel like home.

I guess what I'm trying to say is; #Do you agree? What season gave birth to the best champions? Why?

I think it might be a little early to write off season 7. I think there's plenty of time for at best 2 more champs to come out this year, possibly even 3 (but I doubt that).

You say how there were a few cool champs from time to time and then list 3 champions who were all released in season 5.

Overall though I agree that season 6 had some great champions and its also my personal favorite season in terms of characters(the only one that I don't like that much was Taliyah)

In general if I'd list the seasons 3-7 by how much I like their champs it'd be: 1.Season 6(as explained above) 2.Season 5(I do like Tahm Kench,Kindred and Rek'sai) 3.Season 4(had the least champions, but almost all of them were pretty good) 4.Season 3(had some pretty cool champs, but also a few that were rather meh in my opinion) 5.Season 7(I'm not really a fan of any of these champs, though its not like I dislike them either)

Though its kinda hard to compare these seasons with the seasons 1 and 2,because those 2 seasons just had so many champions, that its rather hard to compare.

Season 7 has been a complete bust when it comes to new champions, IMO. It's such a disappointment coming off from the plethora of unique champions we received during season 6.

On the other hand - the VGUs this season have been stellar so far.

THe thing is that it would be cool for Riot to come back to making spiritual mystical characters. TahmKench and Bard andKindred and even AurelionSol are all spiritual character that were really awesome. And we need more of that. The thing is that RIot is particulary good in creating characters that based on religion or believes. Like Illaoi. All characters that have been named are pretty cool and I very want more like that.

Also, i think that Xayah and Rakan are pretty cool characters. Teenage racist edgy girl paired with ADHD boy and they are both fully-magical creatures. That's pretty dope. And Camille with her "I'm better than you" attitude is pretty legit.

Lmao WHAT ? Camille is the best release in ages. I love everything about that champs design and gameplay, she is unique and brings alot to toplane. I used to main support and got bored of it and here is Rakan a super fun mobile support. Xayah is also a great adc that I enjoy aswell. Kayn looks boring af to me but the rest were fine. S6 Kled, Jhin, Taliyah were amazing. Ivern, Illaoi and Sol are just boring and weird to play.
