Hmm gives credence to IronStylus's original idea that Leona/Diana were supposed to be lovers or past lovers forced into fighting each other. But that's the old non-existent lore. So I don't think it matters anymore.

By that logic MF x Draven, Renekton, Zac, Graves, Ziggs, Lee and Mundo are all canon. So... no Leona X MF is not canon.

Someone who has terrible hatred for the livings like Renekton, which is also a non-human being wouldn't have a desire to have love interest with a human IMO.
