People actually clamored for a VU for Sion, did they not?

No one was asking for a VU for Fiora. Some people may not care or turned out to like it, but no one wanted it and it wasn't necessary. Her model and splash were fine.

Meanwhile Mordekaiser and Taric still look like shit.

Do you people even get how projects work and how management of those projects work!? Its obvious (well to a sane person) why Taric and Morderkaiser arent done before Fiora, their kits, visual apperance and thematic significance need serious overhauls, which means more work, which means more time needed to finish them, which means they wont be done before such works as Fioras, which isnt as large as the previously mentioned.

Learn to type before you talk down to someone.

Fiora's kit, literally every one of her abilities, was either completely changed or given a significant overhaul. Similarly, Fiora's splash art and models were changed significantly. Fiora's rework was touted as a small update, particularly on the visual side, but we now know this was not the case.

Short of turning Taric or Mord into completely different champions (which, don't get me wrong, would not surprise me), what makes you believe they will require much more work than what Fiora got? Particularly on the visual side of things. Believe it or not, a champion doesn't need to get a kit rework to get a VU.

Anyway, your angst-filled, emotionally-charged response to my post really just side-stepped my main point.

People wanted Sion to get a VU. Virtually no one was asking for a Fiora VU.

I know, I do, I feel ya, but this isn't gonna go away all that easily. People get really pissed when League's ladies get anything new that could even hint at being different than their expectations.

I'm pretty sure people were also furious when Trundle, who is not and never was a lady, was given a pretty huge VU, and they were justified in their displeasure (this is coming from someone who honestly likes the new Trundle more, by the way).

Those "expectations" exist because they are the champions we have played, learned to love, and identified with.

Why do you apparently think it's okay to get rid of them?

Oh they were pissed about Trundle, but Trundle was such a massive shift from one thing to the other that they're basically entirely different entities. The people who loved old Trundle were, and still are, totally justified in being royally pissed off at Trundle being changed in such a dramatic fashion. (I also like new Trundle more than old Trundle, so you're not alone in that.)

I would say that these opinions are over-inflated for the women of League though. This of course just comes from my observations over the past couple of years but a large amount of the updated splashes for League's women (Ahri, Sivir, Vayne, Katarina, etc) are always HEAVILY scrutinized, far more so than any others. Male champions get criticism in their art as well, but it's never as wide spread as that which is given for the women.

Yes people get these expectations from a love of the champions, I get that completely. I play this game and love these champions too! My point is that for League's women they're put under such a heavy amount of scrutiny comparatively that whenever a new splash or VU comes in for them I'm dreading even setting foot here on the boards, on Reddit, or anywhere League related. It's totally fine and reasonable to be pissed at changes that you don't like, but there's just SO MUCH OF IT and it always comes back to League's women, not the men. Trundle is the obvious exception because of how dramatic a shift that was, and that wasn't just in terms of art but in aesthetics and personality. People seem enraged about Fiora because she's not as good looking to them anymore, and I stress the "to them" part.

It makes me dread what's gonna happen around these parts when Ahri Akali Caitlyn Evelynn Irelia Janna Kayle Leblanc Leona Lux Morgana and Vayne All get VUs in the future.

I definitely see your point, and I do not agree with the way a lot of the people railing against the new splash have phrased their arguments against it (I particularly cringe whenever someone says some shit like Riot is trying to turn Fiora into a "SJW feminazi tumblr land whale", with all of these words being used to describe her, though the last only really used to describe the new headmistress skin). And yeah, a lot of it has to do with people finding Fiora less attractive now.

But backlash against Fiora is different than that of the backlash against all of the champions listed, if I am recalling correctly.

Because Fiora's VU IS a significant departure from her previous look, if not to the same extent as Trundle, who was pretty much the polar opposite of what he once was.

Fiora's new appearance, with her more gaunt, sharp facial features, and generally older (early middle age IMO) appearance would have been fine... on a new champion.

People have noted that there is a lack of age diversity in League's women, and yeah, I'd say that's definitely true and is a problem, but the solution is not to go back and change the previous champions to fit this need.

People have identified with this champion and adored her design. I took one look at Fiora and knew I wanted to play her, regardless of how good she was (and I turned out to be sort of bad with her, lol). But when I saw the new splash art, I could only see the quiet Ekko of the Fiora I knew and loved, and I know I am not the only one who felt this way. I don't know why some people find it so hard to understand that they would be upset over this.

I think the problem is that you're right to be pissed, upset, displeased and mortified, but as you said at the top:

It becomes really hard when you're not of the same opinion to wade through the mud to find out what's muck and what's gold when some people come in with legitimate criticism and others come in with bile and vitriol. I mean here I've had this conversation you and in another I called Fiora's old head mistress skins Giraffe like (Her neck looks really long from the shot shown and I never noticed. I even own that skin) and I was called a perv and a Riot smurf account. When that all filters in to the same topic it leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

On that note though I have to apologize. In all of this I think I've forgotten that people have genuine criticism and I've been swept along without thinking things through properly. I've been very dismissive and that's hardly fair, so sorry NemeBro, and sorry Fiora lovers.

It's cool man. I've probably been a dick when discussing this topic myself, since it is one that I actually really care about. And it gets really frustrating reading threads like this that dismiss people's problems with the VU, or others asking dumb shit like "WHY DOES EVERY LEAGUE CHAMP HAVE TO BE HOT?".

Though frankly, it also does not help that we were misled by reds leading up to the VU (Meddler said the VU was less extensive than MF's, lol wtf), and reds have not made a peep on the boards in a Fiora thread since IronStylus did in one of the first ones.

I shouldn't have to get a reddit account to interact with the devs.

Fiora had one of the best models in league, while Sion looked like a N64 character. Why did she get picked when Poppy, Taric, Morde, kennen, fiddlesticks and many other old champions actually need it? Have you actually looked at fiddle compared to some of the new champs?
