Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against fan artist. I love everything they make and am very envious of them as I can't draw well with a pencil. and riot appreciating them is a really admirable thing to do. But does it not feel like a cop out

Grimm Howl2 votesNo, it means it's a place holder until Riot's Splash Art team can get around to updating it. With new champions, current champion reworks and new skins, that team already has enough on their plate. When the team behind the splashes continue cranking through their still relatively long list of previous champions who received a visual update, eventually Sivir will get her's.
In case you needed the list of champions who have previously received a VU or VGU without getting entirely new Splash Art;

GreenLore1 votesOverall I wouldn't take Reav3s list too seriously,he also posted that Morgana is on the list for skin splash updates,but that would be redundant as she is already on the list for a VGU(and Master yi,Kata,Soraka and TF deserve a splash update as they all received full VGUs)

GreenLore2 votesThey aren't. They were originally the chinese splash arts(and the chinese ones had very often a more anime-like style) and when riot unified the splash arts they chose the chinese ones over the others.
She will eventually get her splash arts updated to modern standards(Pax sivir got already a new splash),but the next skin splash update will go to
NuggeTech1 votesWell I really didn't know about the Them being a Chinese splash arts. Buts it's been so long. MF's splash arts aren't bad with the exception of cowgirl. Sivir deserves one.
GreenLore2 votesPretty much every champion who received a visual update in the past years is going to get new skin splashes eventually,so Sivir is at least on their list for updates.
And I agree that she should be a top priority and the same goes for since most of his splash arts don't resemble his actual skins.
