Basically, with the whole bit of blades floating behind her, instead of in front of her. That, IMO, be a much more interesting way to make Irelia look cool, instead of the whole strange floating sword hovering before her.
Plus if Zelos ever gets released, you could have Irelia be all Yandere for him. XD
I always wondered why a woman who can control all of her weapons hands free at the same time would clump them all together and smash them into her opponent in the crudest way possible.
It's like she is wasting the potential of this super power so horribly the only way to explain it is that her near death experience caused brain damage.

The floating sword concept is a better match for what Irelia is currently and probably will be. if she evolved away from the penultimate tanky DPS into a true assassin model, the sword's properties would be an amazing tool in her kit.
