@Riot, a last desperate plea from Frostblade owners. I propose a compromise.

I know now that I flew too close to the sun attempting to save what was lost. That battle is over and my days of tilting at windmills are done. What I am asking now is for the smallest consolation prize for your defeated foes. I have discussed and debated this for quite a while in private chats and one person close to riot inspired me with an idea.

Instead of offering refunds for owners of the skin, let us swap out the frostblade skin for another irelia skin. This would result in less paperwork on your end not having to deal with the complications of refunding money to credit cards and the like. It would have a possible minor loss in revenue from unhappy frostblade owners who would be forced to purchase a different skin.

But it would provide a massive amount of good PR which I think more than offsets the previously mentioned costs. I know for a fact that I would feel much better about this issue and be more favorably inclined to purchase more skins in the future if this was done for us.

Your Irelia rework was a stroke of genius and 99% of it was as close to perfect as can be reasonably expected. You have enticed me to leave my jungle which I have never done in 4+ years just so I can play her. Please don't leave me with a sour taste in my mouth for this because of the decision to radically change the only skin I owned and loved.

I don't expect much and I don't have to get a yes, but it would really lift my spirits if I could get even a single riot member to at least talk to us about this idea even if it is just to say that it is not possible. My entire original thread on this issue was about getting more open communication with Riot and it really hurt to not get a single response except to go to reddit.

We know that you have reservations about using the boards. And we know that you have been poorly received in the past. But I believe that my original thread proves that there are a lot of us out there that would be willing to have meaningful dialog if you would give us a shot.

This will be my last post on the issue of Frostblade and whatever way the dice rolls, I want to thank everyone who participated with me in the last two weeks. Even the haters, you inspired me and I was happily surprised that for the most part things stayed civil and on point. It has been an honor serving with you all and I wish you the best of luck as you continue on into this brave new world.

P.S. I know this wouldn't help the players that already own every Irelia skin, I have thought it over and I can't come up with any ideas that wouldn't involve Riot giving something away for free. If anyone can brainstorm an idea for those players please help me out.

Have an upvote. Can't say I have much stake in this game, but this seems like a reasonable thread to get a response on.

That said, I suspect that this isn't possible currently. My suspicion is that the tech for this sort of skin "trade" doesn't exist, and it's likely not worth building it solely for this one instance (and, in doing so, setting a precedent that changed skins in the future could also be traded out in this manner). Even a flat refund would either require Player Support handling every request, or just flatly refunding everyone who has Frostblade Irelia.

I totally get the frustration though, and I wish you luck in getting a conversation on the topic, even if it's not the answer you ultimately want.

I would trade my Furblade Irelia skin for Nightblade or Lotus Irelia in a heartbeat. This skin isn't what I wanted anymore. It's not what I bought, and I hate it.

They don't have to deal with any of that. Refunds normally result in whatever IP/RP spent on content being regurgitated.

Old frostblade had gold lining to a blue bodysuit which emphasized her figure not just her butt

Looking at surrender20 they're now using that fan-made model (assuming it was fan-made anyway) that was circulating after a while. Or is that one still not satisfactory somehow (at which point, I'd really point you to every other champion VGU and say they too didn't get a refund).

To be honest, even though I own every Irelia skin, and even though I hate the new Frostblade, I'd be willing to take a hit (more like a bat to the face) and just suck it up with everyone getting their choice at a different skin. I'd rather at least the other Irelia players be happy they weren't forced to owning the betrayal that is the new Frostblade skin. So I support Panda's proposal and hope Riot allows owners of Frostblade to get the choice to switch skins. As for us who own all the skins, let's just take one for the team. Riot betrayed us and we'll remember.

PS: Weren't you a moderator? I hope Riot didn't remove it because I really think you did the right thing trying to speak out and get people to bring the Frostblade skin discussion up in the spotlight.

Well it is clear that Riot has no intention to respond. It was an honor fighting the good fight with you brothers and sisters. I can put down my sword and know that I went down swinging to the bitter end. I wish you all the best of luck and let this situation stand as a warning sign of the kind of company you are dealing with.

I didn't like the skin at first glance, but now they added some SFX and VFX and I think that she's ok (still not the same theme completely). But I agree with you, I already have all Irelia's skin, and wouldn't change my frostblade, but since the skin changed that much, your suggestion is very plausible.
