Riot: Yeah we'd really like to develop Vlad's theme, lots of potential, maybe one day. Other games:

By the trends every gaming company BUT Riot will have an updated version of Vlad/Bloodlord Vlad. Blizzard did it in 2017, most MOBAs have one that looks 10x better/more modern, this just came out. Meanwhile the most famous one here Vladimir just has to look like a low poly turnip with VO and animations from 2010.

It's sad Riot is so blind to the treasures in their own vault and so eager to ignore them in favor of inferior material, especially now that vampires are coming back into vogue.

EDIT: I don't mean to sound unappreciative of the new high quality skin, or all the great work that got done for LoR... Especially the latter, which was stellar in every way, except for the outdated character design that marred it, and it's a pity. It hurts to know how perfect it could be.

EDIT2: Sorry for typos seeing this image short circuited my brain

I'd love it if they gave Vlad a VU

It just isn't Vlad though. Riot should be doing a lot more for their older champions. Half of their champion pool (the older generation ones) are outdated in terms of art and some of their kits are a problem. Instead of addressing these issues Riot is releasing new champions with updated art and overloaded kits that forces them to rework these champion 2 - 4 months later. Riot Game Developers DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR OLDER CHAMPIONS, ESPECIALLY THE ONES THEY MAKE MISTAKES ON AND OTHER ONES WHO ACTUALLY NEED THE WORK. New champions bring in the money and that is what they prioritize all of their teams and resources into.

A billion dollar company who cannot be bothered to hire new talent to get s**t done on older champions, but other mobas and games do it on a regular basis. Riot should be doing more Ezreal and Morgana level mini-VGU but that is not on the tables when they have champions like Ryze and Lux that need their yearly art updates and kit reworks.

Vlad really needs a VU, with the same voice he has in Legends of Runeterra.

Why doesn't Vlad get an update before some other champions? He looks ancient.

The real problem is that Vlad fits thematically in his current state (Could be better, but he's at least grounded in his themes), his gameplay is alright design wise (Number wise ehhhh), and it's only his visuals holding him back. That alone puts him further back in the list than people whose gameplay is problematic or outdated (Hello Fiddle) or people who aren't really fulfilling their thematic very well (Hello Voli that is a bear, instead of a Demi-god).

Unfortunate for sure, since there's no doubt that Vlad could be so much more. There's just a few more champions who could be so much more drastically than Vlad.

The difference is that most video game developping companies' objective is to, well, develop anything related to their game to make it better.

Riot, on the other hand, will try to do the absolute minimum to keep a minimal amount of players, while 100% focusing on having as much pro play viewers as possible. I miss when Riot's objective was expanding an already pretty good game and incrementing its quality steadily.

But you should be unappreciative OP. Everything this company does is half assed.

As if Vlad needed a new skin that is more of the same instead of a visual update. (Just like a bunch of other champions)

This company deserves all the shit it gets for how they treat older champions.

to be fair, a lot of champs are under developed. Sadly Riot likes to have a HUGE gap in what's popular and what's not and rather then fix that problem by maybe doing some cool stuff with less popular champs to try and give them the spotlight more often, they just make all their content about those popular champs. Nothing ever ends up developing if your not raking in the big bucks and they have had no interest in ever trying to change that. Unless your main ends up getting picked up by a pro and suddenly become an LC$ darling long enough to be popular for 2 years, Riot ends up "not having the resources".

Do people who call Vlad's kit outdated know he has gotten GU not that long ago?

I'm just surprised that vlad doesn't even have the ability to turn into a bat yet. Like come on, what gives.

Pup Twilight11/27/2019, 5:43:38 PM1 votes

Sorry but there other champions that need VU before him 😉

I saw the Ao Kuang one yesterday and although it takes the same idea it's not like his character is anything like Vlad in general. He's a melee assassin that has nothing to do with vampires or blood. Only that skin gives him that kind of persona. Even then the card art is a tad deceiving since he doesn't drain blood or anything of the sort.

Vlad is a ranged mage that is all about blood being a Hemomancer.
