slightly there's a chinese story / mythology about a monkey king named Sun Wukong, there's a monk and yadda yadda has a staff rides a cloud you get the gist of it pretty much the same thing though

His name was just Kong Master Yi NAMED his disciple Wukong to teach him Wuju Style I'm not talking about inspiration I'm talking about the reason for naming him that. Sort of a clever way to tie him into Master Yi and give him a backstory for League.
