Are the Darkin the Four/five horsemen and if so
Where does that put them on the power scale lore wise? I mean the horsemen are meant to herald the end of all life. So does this mean they are cosmic or are their in game quotes just talk?

Imo just talk. They are probably very powerful, but more in the sense of one man armies if anything.
Just because they seem to be based on them doesn't mean they are the same thing.
