Is Mama Elodie related to Sona?

Sweat sheened her skin, and veins stood out on her neck. However she was making this music, it was clearly taking a toll. > The light filling the chamber dimmed as her voice grew softer and softer. The notes melted like snow in spring, sunset over a winter ocean. Tears flowed down Wyn’s face, and he knew he wasn’t the only one crying. Dozens of men and women wept, reaching toward Mama Elodie and imploring her to continue. She swayed on the stage, the song nearing completion.

In the story is stated that she may be a Ionian princess, so is not only that her voice can pull the strings of your souls like Sona's music. That it was also stated that her way of singing has a emotional magic, and is a hereditary art.

She works on a orphanage. Could be this some kind of guilty complex for having to retreat Ionia and leaving her daughter, or whatever Sona may be to her, in an oprhanage?

And normally, in this kind of stories, there is always one reference to a champion at least. And so far, I haven't be able to guess any reference besides this one. What do you think? I'm imagining things, or there is weight to my arguments?
