@Riot: The Sphinx, what will she be?

It's obvious to say that the sphinx is by far the most famous of all ancient Egyptian myths, besides mummies. So it brings up the question, how is the human beast amalgamation going to appear in LoL?

I could see it going a number of ways; she is an ancient Ascended who is simply still sleeping under the sands, waiting till she is needed to defend Shurima, or she is a new Ascended who can toggle or is only partially bestial, or she is bits and pieces of dead Ascended that has been stitched together and reanimated.

I could also see the Sphinx being important enough to have a new map dedicated to her, if Riot ever wants to make a new map that is.

What if she is actually a baccai? Someone who failed the ascension ritual,but still survived,hence the difference in body type.

Or she could be a demigod. I mean those are likely not limited to the freljord.

I hope that demigods are not limited to Freljord. They should rework Rammus to be an earth related demigod of Shurima in my opinion.

I can see a sphinx being a demigod as well. ^^ Maybe showing the friendly side of the desert, let her be a demigod of the water and represent an oasis. Maybe as a new support champion? Shurima is lacking that role right now.

I would love to have a Shurimian female ascended !

I think they will make her one day, maybe not a sphinx but a champion based on Sekhmet or Bastet, I heard several times the name "Settaka'', an ancient war goddess who got her weapon stolen by Sivir

Settaka could be in the weapon. Maybe in Sivir's relaunch, her ultimate will have Sivir transform into Settaka.

But again, why would they update Sivir? Her updated included VO for the newly updated Shurima and she's currently up to speed on everything. Gangplank had fundamental flaws in his kit design which spurred another rework - Sivir does not.

But she still doesn't meet Riot's current standards. Her new voice over is lacking when compared to a newer champion. Her model and visuals are pretty bland. Her gameplay lacks structure and her lore has nothing to do with her kit. The only thing that separates Sivir from any other marksmen is her spell shield.

Sivir is a loner sword for hire who moonlights as a bandit and has a one of a kind magic boomerang crossblade and she secretly has Ascended blood in her veins. Why does her ultimate inspire her and her allies to charge headfirst into battle? Why does the crossblade shoot out tiny versions of itself that fly around and hit people? Is the crossblade what creates her spell shield? What the hell is a Battle Mistress?

It's lacking, yes, but it's a helluva lot more modernized than someone like, say Riven or Ahri, and it should be a while before she needs any visual work done.

As for her gameplay and kit, most champions don't have gameplay that matches their kits. Furthermore, Sivir WANTS a simple life. She understands she's got some weird shit in her ancestry, but she don't give no fucks and just wants to get money, get paid, and go spend it. She's the epitome of "ignorance is bliss." If you read any of the lore that came out with the Shurima event, or even with Taliyah, this fits with her. Taliyah and Nasus both note that she could be a more magnificent champion of the people, but Sivir wants nothing of it. That's who she is, and her gameplay fits with that.

And if you really want to get nit picky, how does Xayah stun with her feathers? How does Urgot create a shield around himself? How does Jhin make grenades that magically bounce? These kinds of things are just understood to be de facto parts of the characters and they just don't need to be explained. Sivir's W and E are just like that. Her R is understood because she acts as a marauder and could lead the band of marauders when she's doing raids and shit. It's not unheard of.

Her gameplay does not fit that at all. You describe Sivir as a mercenary bandit who just wants to be paid and left alone, when her ultimate is this loud ass war cry that causes her to lead her team screaming headfirst into battle. Her kit is suppose to be on a leader, which is why Kled has a version of her ultimate which isn't boring and it fits, because Kled is a general who does lead his troops into battle screaming bloody murder, while Sivir would just rather avoid the fight all together and just steal their money.

Acupuncture. Xayah stuns people by throwing her needle like feathers into their pressure points.

Magnets. He creates a hextech electromagnetic barrier which repels metal.

Geometry. He shoots his grenades the same way Captain America throws his shield. He just sees the angles that he needs to hit for it to bounce how he wants.

Sivir is a fighter, but the lore paints her as the tactical type who favors stealth and experience over a direct assault, and instead of being a leader it sounded like she basically did what she wanted to by herself, and others just followed her.

A good new passive for her would be a contract that she signs with her support for bonus gold and other bonuses, or maybe it could bring up the importance of the Crossblade, forcing her to only have 1 active projectile, and making her attack speed increase how fast it moves, but making it really strong... or both. Maybe the contract could replace the spell shield and allow her to redirect spells to her support.

A new ultimate could be like an Assassin's Creed type thing where Sivir whistles and marks a big area and enemies in it get crosshairs and after a few seconds a bunch of bandits rain arrows down on the targeted enemies, or if you go with the single projectile, maybe she Ascends and becomes surrounded in ethereal crossblades, allowing her to throw as many crossblades as she wants for several seconds, she can even keep the movement speed and attack speed from her current ult.

Actually, Sivir didn't really steal it. Setaka was already dead. If I recall, she was killed by Void creatures during Icathia's Destruction. Sivir is her descendant, as is Azir, which is why he was revived by Sivir's blood being spilled.

Basically, the Chalicar is Sivir's birthright, and she was bound to find it eventually.

Also, wouldn't there still be enough visual difference between the skin for a tiny cat and a giant winged she beast? Besides, Riot bans skins in tournaments all of the time from being too visually similar to other things.
