Urgot bio and story up

why would anyone want to be a chem baron in zaun. you either get killed by a wolf man or a glob monster or a mechanical monstrosity.

I really love how Urgot is a villain in the end, there is no "Oh, something bad happened to him and now he became like this.".

He was someone with his morals codes and it didn't mean that he was righteous or bad, he followed them and though high of him because he followed an ideal.

It got shattered and he was dead inside, his body following kinda. And now, he just got a twisted new ideal, one where he could kill thousands of children and not feel like a monster or anything because he feel like he is making them realize what true life is. He thinks that anyone who is not surviving is doomed to fall into the state desilusion as he did.

Can you imagine that? He is not like a "mafia" lord or anything. He isn't even a maniac who manipulate people like Elise.

He just has an ideal so twisted he believe it to be the truth and he is ready to unleash everything among the one who 'lies', and he doesn't even care if he die because surviving is living. You die? Well you died, you weren't worthy or good enough. But if you survive in the mayhem, the chaos that is the world, it mean that you are truly strong, that you are truly up to what "worthy" is.

Imagine someone who lost his ideals, his body, his hopes and dreams, anything only to realize it doesn't f*cking matter because surviving is all that life is, taking all the pain and going forward.

Of course it is terrible but it is also such a powerful message. Life hit you hard as hell and you lost everything? You are still here, you are strong, continu forward, you are winning this.

Maybe my own personnal problems goes in how I interpret this but it is no wonder some people are making a cult about him, he is a leader that doesn't try to rise a nation. He try to be an ideal, it is a survivor twisted view.

He is a monster, he kill with no remorse, he enjoy pain and yet, he is just a survivor.

God damn, I loved him to death before. Now, I love him to life.

I really wish there was more detail behind his betrayal. Feels like there's a piece missing in his story. Same as his breakout.

I'm pretty impressed. The story truly was better told through someone else's eyes. They captured the horror of what urgot is very well.

People have got to stop trusting Swain

Thanks Ral, was actually expecting it to be Sharjo, but you seem to have beat him to it.

I'm more just confused why Swain would take the time to screw him over. He's an executioner, not exactly a high political position that needs to be removed from power for the new regime to take over.

Rest of it was alright though.

You know, I gotta take umbrage at the 'usurper' thing for Swain, because AFAWK, if the events in Urgot's story more or less follows the story leading up to Kalamanda, then Swain was building up a political power base already before having Darkwill assassinated.

It was less a sudden coup, and more like 50-50 either way if they had an election. The earlier part of Swain's lore said that he was originally removed from active service before the League, because Darkwill and the other higher-ups were afraid of his growing popularity and support.

When Darkwill died, his son Kieran tried to take over via nepotism - which btw wasn't even suppose to be a thing in meritocratic Noxus in the first place.

So he and Swain fought. All we know about Kieran is he had a sword. He was basically an NPC that just got introduced. Of course he lost (though why LeBlanc was Swain's body-double in the first half of the fight, I don't know)

The most underhanded thing Swain did was kill Darkwill indirectly instead of challenging him. But Darkwill according to the lore was also stretching his life with necromantic powers and sciences, and was afraid to even leave the Noxus capital because that left him vulnerable. So I don't know, maybe Swain figured Darkwill would either weasel his way out a fight. Or Darkwill's supporters would have resurrected him quickly using previous methods if he was still in Noxus.

Edit: And because I know some people will go 'but it's old lore'. If both 'new lores' in Sion's REBIRTH teaser, and now Urgot's bio, refer to events that occurred in Swain's/LeBlanc's current/old lore; then in lieu of any actual new lore, I think we can assume for now, that at least highly similar events still happened (but remove the Summoners' parts)
