Not sure how I feel about Volibear's answer and Soraka though.

talk about vastaya and how magical it is all you want but some seriously strange and powerful things going on up on that mountain that makes vasatayan magic look like hocus-pocus!
I'm fascinated by Volibear's being.
Seems similar to Loa from World of Warcraft. Perhaps an ancient Ursine ancestor that was so powerful in life he transcended death and became a part of Freljord's spirit world.
Volibears answer sounds a bit like he is kind of the opposite to 
Both are spirits of the freljord,but they chose to ally themselves with different sides.
Since Swain wasn't mentioned as having vastayan blood I'd imagine that he might have used it in a ritual(or that beatrice is related to the vastaya)
I must know more about this pact.
Also all this magic stuff makes me need to know more about how it works. Is it taught? Is it innate? Is it the typical "fireball" kind of magic or much more subtle?
How do the Vastaya and the Vastayashai'rei differ in appearance? Like, what exactly are the Vastayashai'rei? And how does their appearance and morph ability change down the evolution tree, shown in the "evolution of vastaya" image?
