What ever happened with this beautiful Irelia splash art?
It's so much better than this animated chinese one. It doesn't even look real

It was only about 80% done, if I remember correctly, and other projects were prioritized instead. Plus, Irelia is fairly high on the list for a VGU, so giving her a new splash now might be a waste of resources, if they do decide to work on her in the next couple of years.
######With all my respect towards Meddler, he's not someone who's (at least not heavily) involved with the splash art pipeline, so "tagging" him for this question doesn't make much sense.
To be honest that new art doesn't even look good to me. I don't like chinese too much but the old one was best for me!
It doesn't even look that great lol. The only thing I don't like about the current one is the top right corner looks unfinished. Just green space.
