How Riot should approach their lore

  1. I would personally keep the old lore and put it somewhere on the website.
  2. I would also have two versions of a champions lore.
  • The reason they are fighting on the Rift.
  • What they were doing outside the rift.
  1. You could use those new single paragraphs for something else?

2 versions of the champion lore sounds hella confusing(but well its not like the current state isn't already confusing).

Overall I would try to rework the interface of the Lore-section in the client, splitting it up into several categorys: 1.Would be introduction, giving us the short lore,as well as showing us the ingame model of the champion(I've heard they wanted to find a way to show this to us a bit better),there could also be the option to look at the different ingame models of skins(maybe with a small infobox about what other changes come with the skin) 2.Would be a section for the full lore giving us full lore pieces(these would be in a folder so that they don't take up that much space) and links to the champion related sites on the official site 3.Would be a relationship page, giving short summaries about the most important relationships the champion has to other champions and city states 4.would be kind of a trivia section giving small tidbits about the champ.

But since the coding seems to be really messy and tech-issues are already proving quite difficult I think this is easier said than done.

Well, let's just say that the Great Retcon never happened. Let's say we go with your "have two versions of a champions lore, why they're fighting on the Rift and what they're doing outside the rift". Okay, where does the story go? Characters keep piling up and piling up and piling up, yet remain unused. A very small minority of characters would actually become less interesting in my eyes, if they were forced into the League.

RekSai Let's take Rek'Sai. Under League's old handling of monster characters, she would be locked up in-between matches. That presents a few problems for me:

  1. Her lore would feel very much the same as Cho'Gath's. "Big monster gets locked up because it wreaked chaos". Except she'd be dumber than Cho... no charisma, no planning, no depravity; just animal fury.
  2. She wouldn't be prowling the desert, a scourge now as she has been for decades. She couldn't inspire that soul-crushing dread into people who realize that she is after them. It'd just feel like, "Well, there's dangerous bugs here in this region, but nothing that can't be handled."
  3. The culture that has sprung around her and the other Xer'Sai, of using disposable bell boys to distract the Xer'Sai, would feel weak. If random League Summoners could subdue her, why hadn't it be done before? Noxus had summoners, since in the old lore everyone had summoners of their own, and Noxus hoped to capture Rek'Sai for the gladitor pits (as seen in her supplementary lore). So why hadn't it been done?

Not to say the new lore is absolutely fantastic and the old lore fans should just shove it. It isn't, and they shouldn't. But these are just my two cents.
