Sorry if this has already been asked/answered. Way back on Jhins release, they slowly teased him by showing champions die on their champ page. Zed, Sona, Vi and Garen. So, why these 4 specifically?

"Why Zed?", and "why 4?" are the most obvious questions that don't require an answer.

But what do Sona, Vi and Garen have to do with him?

My current theory: Sona is a performer, and he's a tad jealous. Vi and Garen are symbols of law, so maybe he wants them dead before they start to chase after him?

What do you guys think?

I personally think it's because: Zed has 3 letters in his name Sona has 4 letters in her name Garen has 5 letters in her name The letters in Vi's name literally means "six" (you clever bastards)

I think it shows that there's an escalating pattern in the first three instances, leading up to a 4th instance, which still follows the pattern of escalation, but is much different in how it accomplishes this. Exactly like his auto attacks.

Maybe Vi because VI backwards is IV and IV is 4 and he is shooting her back and the first 4 letters of backwards are "back".

BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE!

In the teaser, he killed Garen but Jhin actually wanted to kill Jarvan 4, because number 4, but since Garen is guard of the crown, Garen blocked the shoot with his body and he died instead.

The assumption about Sona is correct. He's jealous people love her more than him.

As for Zed... I don't know the details, but he's involved with Shen and Shen's father who are also involved with Jhin's lore.

You are correct about him being jealous that Sona is stealing his spotlight. I'm not entirely sure about the other two so maybe your theories are correct there, though I think he may view Vi as being more of a brute since her style of fighting is very different compared to his properly arranged "performances." Not sure about Garen.

They might be persons that Jhin will encounter eventually. After all he is on his way to Piltover/Zaun where he could meet VI and if he goes to Demacia afterwards he could meet Garen&Sona.
