I think that they did a great job in retaining much of Warick's iconic character traits and updating them for the present . I really think they can do the same for Evelynn. I think a lot of us are concerned with them tearing out what we enjoy about the Widowmaker. Just have to wait and see I guess.
Keep in mind that CertainlyT (Who worked on Warwick) will be moving back to the New Champions team and SolCrushed will be a lead designer on the next Roster Updates.
The new designers on ChampUP for VGUs, according to Reav3, will be Stashu (Whose notable works include Vladimir in the MYMU and the Fiora Update) and RiotRepertoir (Whose notable works include the VGUs of Taric and Ryze). Reav3 will announce which of them will work on whose VGU in the upcoming State of Champion Update Devblog.
I'm hoping evenlynn gets her day, soon, too. It's about time. She's so problematic and needs an update so bad.

From what I've heard they are actually doing Urgot next. Though Eve has a high chance to be Team Galios next project(and Galio is likely to be released before the next champion,so i guess he's coming in febuary already)
