Now that's out of the way, I also do hope we learn more about Varus' sister. Hopefully when he gets a VO update it'll bring more info with it.
I hope not. Even Rioters think that his retcon was a terrible idea.

None cares about Varus, I want to know about Aatrox, Rhaast and Tryndamere after he fought Aatrox. Varus's story is the most clear one. He's controlling 2 gaes
The last extension of Darkin lore was Vladimir's lore retcon, wasn't it? And it basically just casually mentions him as one's student.
I think you're looking for Varus lore, not Darkin.
The Darkin lore was a huge failure from the start. It just paints all the sides as terribly stupid and nothing really has any meaning anymore.
- Ascencion is no longer granted to the worthiest and immolates the unworthiest, it's a supersoldier maker.
- Azir saving Sivir and becoming worthy of Ascending doesn't matter anymore. If anyone can Ascend, why is Azir so special?
- Nasus is a sad fuck who didn't do anything - and he didn't go crazy like his kin for...reasons?
- Darkin are shown as one-sidedly as possible. Even though they are supposed to be broken soldiers without a king, they don't have half of the depth they're supposed to have. Aatrox is like the one doing all the tragic bits.
- Targon is a bunch of assholes.
- Icathia is a bunch of idiots who dropped an atomic bomb upon themselves and those who remained started giving themselves asspats while sitting balls deep in the Void.
Didn't you say you regret bringing Varus up? Riot needs to absolutely BURY the darkin storyline until they re-rework/revert Varus's lore.
However, if you do love Varus, as your name would suggest, and you are a fan of lore, I have been working on a rework of his lore to fit Riot's vision, as well as tie into his original lore and League Judgement, and I would be happy to share it with you to get your thoughts. I had been on the idea of Varus as a darkin since season 4, and it was just bittersweet to see the cost of that realization. Let me know what's up and we can coordinate.
I think the current Darkin due to their corruption have taken the reason they were ascended in the first place and bent them.
Like theoretically. Rhaast could have been a very loyal soldier, one who fought for the blood and sand of Shurima. but after his corruption that loyalty was replaced by blood lust and the will to dominate. He went from loyalty to obedience.
Varus could have been an upholder of justice. Justice to revenge.
and Aatrox is described as being a forgotten Ideal. One thing of note in the Shurima story is the constant use of betrayal. Xerath betrayed Azir. Cassiopeia betrayed Sivir. The Darkin betrayed Shurima. I think Aatrox was honor. and from honor we get what he currently is. Worthiness. Everything unworthy of existence must be purged. and everything is unworthy.
also i think Varus just broke their bodies apart and fused them together. Souls are a thing in Runeterra. I don't think he can just destroy the brain and hopes that works. the souls are still around until he banishes them.
and Varus's sister is probably Valeeva.
I actually think the lore behind Darkin is pretty filled out, we know who they are, why they exist all that. What you want is stories on the individual characters right?
I'm fine with Varus and Aatrox stuff but the less about Rhaast we know the better. Some characters are better left as homicidal maniacs. Do people want characterisation or humanity added to a nutjob who goes on about killing everything he sees?
If it happens, it happens. But theres no reason to be holding your breath for it.
