I really like that skin line, they are all like: "Nah, screw war and stuff, let's all go to the pool".
Plus the possibilities are endless. Literally every champion fits the theme. Somehow.
I seriously wish Riot would bring it back this summer. It may not be the best looking skin line but it's definitively among the coolest ones.

Jeddy01712 votesOf course, they're coming back. They just took a break last year. Probably because the skins team used their resources on other skin lines. No one said the skinline is done. Not the 1st year we went without a Pool Party skin, there also was no Pool Party skin back in 2014.
Sometimes they need to take a break from some skinlines to give other skinlines some love & create new original skin themes. This also means when the skins team return to X skinline, it will be much bigger & better than before.

Riot should do more for new and unique ideas. Rather than shove a massive Star Guardian event, why wasn't there more for the three Swords skins?

For you maybe, but it's most likely dfferent for others. A lot of people wants a pool party skin for their favorite champs & a lot of champs still don't have Pool Party skin. People want to see their champs have fun skins. Most people likely wouldn't care about the skinline as a whole, they just look at specific champs they like. I like Pentakill Yorick because I like Yorick. But I don't care for the rest of the PK skins because I'm not really attached to those champs.
And that unique flair you're talking about. The unique flair comes from the champ themselves, not the theme. A 
Pool Party skin would be unique & different from "X Champ" Pool Party skin because , himself, is unique & different from the rest of the roster. The same goes for a 
. A Pool Party skin for each of these champs would be/is (if they already exist) unique & different because the skins around made around what make those champs unique. Not just from the designs for the outfits, but the VFX as well.
Now, it's possible to become a little weary of a skinline if they don't occasionally take a break from it.
Riot should do more for new and unique ideas.
What Riot should is a solid mix of both. Continue to expand existing skinlines (big or not), while creating new ones. There's no need to choose one or the other. Of course, they should take a break from some skinlines to give love to other skinlines or create new skins/skinlines. That way, they can return with more hype for X skinline.
ChompyWulf1 votesI know too well that a lot of people are way to willing to stick to the established skin lines and see them bloated to excess. It was pretty much proven by Battlecast winning the Illaoi vote. That doesn't mean at all I should accept the herd mentality and stop trying to convince people to want original ideas to prevail. I appreciate that you can at least agree they should mix up expanding lines as well as making new...something they seem to be steadily abandoning.
And yes, across the 130+ champ pool there are a lot who are different, but there are also handfuls of champs who will look a LOT similar, especially stripped down to a limited pool party theme. Basic example, Garen and Darius will nearly look like clones.

The little cameos in the splash arts are something I have spent many moments examining. It is such an amazing skin line so I hope they bring it back

Here's the thing though. I never said he'd get ANY skin soon. I simply said that he has a chance of getting A Pool Party skin in the future-- whether it's PP 2018 or PP 2077. I never stated an allotted time that he'd get it.
On your other point, Yi and Jhin both got new skins in a fairly short time. Cosmic to Eternal and Blood Moon to PROJECT. That point is useless to use on popular champions like Ahri, Zed, or Yasuo.
