Why didn't Sylas become part of the Illuminators?

He didn't want to cause harm to Demacia at first. He gave himself in order to protect his family. He should have been contacted by the Illuminators when he admitted having magic powers. Why wasn't it the case? Was it because he was already enrolled by the Mageseekers before he had the chance to meet the Illuminators? Because he was already a known wielder of magic in Demacia and could compromise the secrecy of the Illuminators?

Lux, being upper class, was likely looked at more favorably

I think despite what everyone has stated, it's far simpler.

Sylas' known magical abilities were utterly useless to the Illuminators. OOooooooOoOoh. He can see that people are magical. That'll come in reallllll handy out in the field doing black ops missions that military won't even stoop to do. Yeah, no. They didn't know he could channel magic (he didn't either), so on paper, he was of little value to the military.

Probably because he went to the mage seekers first. Regardless, I doubt Sylas likes the Illuminators since they willingly participate in a fascist society and do little do stop Demacia’s oppression of mages.

Keep in mind that Sylas was locked up 15 years ago,we don't know how the illuminators worked back then.

Also its likely because Sylas went to the mageseekers first, while Lux never revealed her magic abilities to the mage seekers.

That occurred to me too. Yeah it could be he was already to well known for them to get to him . Or it could be , the Illuminators, are made of people within the upper class of Demacia. And Sylas coming from a poor family , he wouldn't be on their radar. But yeah, like it said in his story , he was doomed from the start.

His arcane sight was likely more useful to the Mageseekers than the Illuminators (or Radiant Ones, as talked about later), and then when he "left" the Mageseekers he was a wanted man.

Also, the Mageseekers might actually be a part of the Illuminators, as we know that Lux is a member of the Radiant Ones, the warrior order within the Illuminators.

Because riot wanted him to be a rebel against Demancia so doing something obvious wasn't an option.

I'm also going to suggest there are political reasons behind his lore because of who owns riot.

Actually it just occurred to me , I would love to meet the person who formed the Illuminators or leads them now . That would be a interesting champ and and more to the history of Demacia.

The Illuminators are not, as a rule, composed of mages, but mostly because he killed people.

So, like, Lightbringers is the name of the church Illuminators is the name of the people running the church Radiant Ones are soldiers Mageseekers are police Sentinels are special ops etc. etc. etc.
