I'd like to thank the Rioters that worked on Shyvana's new lore.

I had made a post roughly two years ago, right here if you want to look at it, and while not all of my questions were answered, I think some of the more important ones were, and I feel very satisfied with how her lore had turned out.

She feels much more approachable than she did before, like a random Demacian citizen can walk up to her and say good morning and she would smile and answer in return. But at the same time she's still an outsider and hides her true self from them, while striving to belong.

Also now we know who her mother was, as well as the circumstances around Shyvana's birth. Growing up with one parent hunting her down to kill her, with the other doing everything possible to keep her alive, makes for an emotionally confusing upbringing, and sheds some light into Shyvana's personality.

While there are things I would have changed, (really I would just have expanded on what you guys have done and wrote an entire book,) I very much like the direction her lore has taken.

Again thank you guys very much for the effort you put into it and the good job you've done!

I thought most of the lore was great. I didn't really think the part where the mage was tinkering with the dragon egg and she came out a human hybrid was really thought out but the development after birth was nice. Looking forward to seeing her interact with other champs in the future, especially the Noxians.

This part here is my favorite thing about her new lore.

"The effort you put into it" = "a wizard did it!"

You really like that? Really?

I hate her new lore. Her title is "the HALF-dragon", but she isn't that anymore. She's a full dragon who has a human form because of a random magus ex machina.

And her new lore makes her able to turn from human to dragon AT WILL. Which makes her current kit out of place, and destroys her whole concept of "you won't like me when I'm angry" which was at the basis of her character.

And now I'm going to be downvoted by fanboys for whom every single thing Riot does is good.

I would so. I was almost shedding tears after seeing that one of my favorite champions had a polished lore and a good story. Shyvana deserved the love she could get.

To be honest I'm not overly fond of Shyvana's new bio. It's certainly a very sound and well-written piece of work, circumstances of her birth aside, but I feel like it's moved a not inconsiderable distance away from who I understood her character to be. I'd very much taken the details we received in the AMA around the time of her last lore rework to heart, and thus I really struggle with a Shyvana who isn't prideful in her draconic heritage, harboring feelings of superiority over humans and just generally struggling to properly integrate with a society that is torn between respecting and fearing her. She still feels like Shyvana, but at the same time the framework around her has been changed in such a way that she isn't really the same person at all.

It's all a matter of personal taste, but I don't like my Shyvana approachable and I would far rather she took pride in the things that set her apart from ordinary humans than saw them as something she had to hide in order to fit in.
