@Riot: What is preventing you from making an "Animatrix"-like compilation of short films?

A full-blown League anime is out of the question, yes, as there'd be too much ground to cover. But one could easily remedy that sort of thing with animated shorts meant to cover small areas of the story. Not fully expansive, but it'd still be very entertaining.

And yet, throughout League's 7 years there hasn't been any attempt to hire some animation companies to make short films for such a compilation. Why is that? Is it "not worth the money"? Or is the lore too screwed up for it to work?

Halo has done it with Halo Legends, Batman did it with Gotham Knight, so why hasn't LoL done it?

This kind of stuff usually comes down to readily available resources and people.

Besides economic complications, there is the problem of riot not having the world fleshed out in basic ways. Especially if they are commissioning an outside company it is very important that all the ground work is laid so you don't end up plot holes. It would be awful to spend a ton on short videos for them to all be half wrong.
