When theres enough player support for a reasonable change, riot is usually willing to change it

Well me and many others have voiced our concerns and issues with Swain's new visuals. We are only a small piece of the big picture but if enough of us are willing to come this consensus then I just suggest you use the tools available to gain more feedback from everyone to ensure the direction you are going with Swain's visuals really is something that everyone in general will approve of. Instead of just something you believe is the correct direction when almost everyone else is saying you are going the wrong way.

Riot spent a whole year lying to us about how we "obviously" wanted flex queue to be the only queue. Riot really DOESN'T respond to the majority. Riot responded only after their bottom line finally got hit hard enough.

I feel like if it was up to the collective arguments and opinions of the boards community, Swain would have came out like this...

Where I would ask myself why did Riot even bother putting their blood, sweat & tears into a VGU, at all, if it's just going to end up a rehash.

Many Swain mains are not asking for radical changes and are in fact happy with the majority of the rework. But there are also minor details that Swain mains like myself feel can be the difference between a good VGU and a great VGU. I even said that we were the smaller piece of the puzzle but that we feel there is at least enough support for changes to warrant having some more feedback gathered to ensure that everything is as it should be.

Suggestions / criticisms I've frequently seen be made by a range of people.

  1. Has to be sorta like Tzeentch when he ults.
  • Could have been old and / or cartoon-like ugly.
  • Would prefer to have Beatrice on his shoulder.
  • Preferred to have short(er) raven like hair
  • Preferred the green & purple aesthetic in cloths and abilities.
  • Lower half of the face had to be covered.
  • The gammy leg was an absolute must for many.
  • Gotta have the cane too, on permanent display.
  • Disappointed Tyrant isn't prime-lore connected, even though it's reasonable why it isnt anymore.
  1. there will probably be something from his lore that wasn't carried over either that people expected to be a must keep.

Starting to see the same old Swain in this list? You might not argree all of those demands were necessary but the poeople who took the time to suggest them thought so.

I could go on about other reworks like how people seemed pretty sure that Urgot being undead was crucial, but in hindsight it's removal hasn't taken anything more away from the character.

Have you been on the Swain mains subreddit? Because some of these changes were quite popular on there and others are the first time being seen by me. Even some of these are only half truths from there.

  1. The main consensus seems to be at least morph his head when he ults, if nothing else.

  2. He already looks old and with few complaints about his age/face

  3. Most of us are happy with in the joke reference and the other ravens that show up

4.Yah the hair is pretty spot on. With everyone at least wanting it shorter

5.This color scheme would have been preferred from what I seen there or at least a dark red to help distinct himself from Vlad

6.Litte support for this (I support it though) or to make an optional in game choice to put it on/off

7.He lost his injuried leg or an arm. Pretty okay with this

8.This was pretty popular initially but support for this disappeared pretty quick once most people found out he pulls one out for his dance

9.Yah a lot of people are disappointed with this not being a in lore skin anymore

10.There is somewhat decent amount of support for some kind of beard. I'm personally against it unless it only for the northern front skin.

Right but you're using your own opinions there.

Regardless this thread isn't about what swainmains like or dislike about the update. You have broadly suggested that Riot listen to anyone's opinion and attempt to satisfy their various demands. But how does Riot begin to filter out the suggestions between what might be good, bad or pointless? And what heppens when one half rally behind a suggestion while another half compromises that it's not necessary, Eg. The hair colour and length debate. Which side is meant to be taken more seriously?

Also please stop incorrectly using the quoting box. Use it to highlight something specific if need be, but the entire comment isnt necessary yet. It just makes the conversation chain longer than it needs to be. Sorry but it's a pet peeve of mine.

I'm not using it, it does it automatically with a reply.

You keep bringing up, repeating, and repeating this idea that the boards or Swain mains speak for everyone or as the main authority on Swain. I already said that we are not but are instead a focus voiced in a vacuum of many. We don't speak for every individual but are a group of people in a community dedicated to his character who gotten together created a general overview of what we like and didn't like. That enough of us have agreed on certain issues and concerns that should be looked into to see if they all, some, or none of the points need to be adjusted. So no I didn't say that Riot should agree with just any opinion. I said they should attempt to satisfy a demand if a substantial amount of support exists for it.

The side that has the best argument for it, but if its somehow a 50/50 split then find a middle ground or alternate solution

Well you must be using "quote" selection rather than "reply" because that shouldnt be automatically happening.

The majority consensus seems to be positive. I don't think you should be getting your hopes up on any type of change. Remember to think about response bias.
