The above artwork is considerably better than the one currently being used, so why didn't it get replaced? Too much effort?
Random fact: The two Spellthief splashes tell a little story. In the US one, she's sneaking up on someone performing some sort of dark ritual in the forest, heavily implied to be Morgana. In the Chinese one, she's walking off with said individual's spellbook. It's the story of how she got both her nickname Spellthief and her Light Binding spell, by stealing it right out from under Morgana while she was distracted.
Maybe better splash art is on its way. Otherwise I dunno really.
