3 Years. The Battle of the Serpent. A Blue Flame leviathan is goaded to the surface by a serpent caller to face the Harrowing. The Black Mist is dispersed before it reaches Bilgewater, but the giant from the depths is slain in the process.

Is the serpent creature in the Bilgewater crest actually the Blue flame leviathan referenced in First light after The Harrowing

Haha interesting observation! So the Serpent Callers actually just summoned a leviathan, of which there may be others :)

Also good to note, the Battle of the Serpent was a recent event, whereas the Bilgewater crest dates back at least a century or more...And even the crest itself was influenced by of the ancient symbology of the native islanders, which dates back thousands of years...

Good question though!

I was wondering if you or someone else could explain to me the dates on that btw. I see I-XII and the years associated with them confuse me

Ex XII - 33 Years but then, XI - 49 Years? And the first three at the list, did those three events happen all within the one year (I presume a year ago lore time?) Just so confused for timeline wise

The conclusion i reached is that the harrowings are listed in order of severity, as in Harrowings 1, 2 and 3 were the worst ever while number 12 was the one that wasn't nearly as bad as all the others. The entire thing is framed to show Harrowings over the last 50 years, as the post in which it was displayed said.

With that in mind I personally think that Harrowings 1, 2 and 3 all happened at the same time, with Nautilus's efforts splitting the Harrowing's forces to they went to Smuggler's Cove and in to the Battle of Knife Straits, but that could be totally wrong.

That makes so much sense. Thank you for this theory. Glad I'm not the only one puzzled by the way it's displayed, but thank you

Hey Penguin, a question if I may, was Bilgewater founded by the natives of the Blue Flame Isles?

I'd imagine it is, as the creature is named after the island. Seems pretty notable.
