Poppy comic: A hero's calling

Poppy; resident bad ass. Kicking ass and taking the names of Crag Beasts forty times her size since...2010 I guess?

Also - the Hammer of Orlon? Wonder who Orlon is.

So...is her ignorance of her identity going to be a permanent feature of her? I really hope not, as it will get old rather fast. Where does she get money for her quest? What funds her along her journey? What will she do when she figures out she's the hero? What if she finds someone equally worthy of the hammer? Would Taric or Jayce be worthy of it? Does she have any agency in all this? What is her standard for worthiness of the hammer?

As lovely as the art is, I'm still bothered by the naivete and trepidation she has now. It doesn't seem to respect the original character very much and appears to be another retcon without advancing a story.

Poppy is either really freaking dense or killing giant monsters is natural where she comes from.

Also we get a look into valorian wildlife. Makes sense that people are stupid powerful when things like that exist.

Okay, I thought it was really cute at first, but Poppy's sheer obliviousness is starting to encroach on straight up idiocy at this point. I can't be the only one to find it jarring.

Does my heart good to see such a great champion being reworked into something that just seems so well thought out with utility and defensive prowess. I will happily take her as an aggressive support being picked into the troublesome Vayne, Graves, and other high mobility champions that will dive into an ADC.

This comic really shows what the new Poppy is about, not the old way of just laughing as you walk around the entire enemy team killing them all and just doing whatever you want. It shows that she is a passive aggressive champion diving in the protect others that cannot do it themselves, taking a protective peeling and even killing them to stop their aggression against others. Flash teleport for solo and supporting. Think of her as an anti engage aggressor champion capable of throwing the pesky front line tanks far away while she and the squishies dive into what little resistance waits. Will seem to be my go to support build for her, basically just peel and agro drawing attention guarding the ADC or carry.

Will most likely be the top lane variant going more aggressive.

Great comic. I haven't logged in for years but I figured I'd log in this once to express my appreciation for the new effort taken with a champion's rework.

Don't be afraid of making more comics for both new Champion releases or Champion reworks. Many players and fans of the game will appreciate them too.
