Could be. I'd put my money on either Orlon being the hammer's original wielder or its crafter. King Orlon does have a nice ring to it. I'm almost imagining him as being the founder of Demacia, or perhaps the fellow who got Demacia back on its feet following the death of Jarvan I. Just spitballin' here of course but I'm eager for more details!

I'm painting a picture in my head here; centuries ago, when Mordekaiser's empire of iron and death reigned supreme, the scattered tribes of humans who kept themselves out of harms way were ever fearful of the revenant's wrath. One day, a man of great honour and virtue rose up in his tribe and spoke of an end to Mordekaiser's reign, and how it would be by human hands that the monster would be felled. The man, known by all as Orlon Lightshield, scoured the lands of northern Valoran, and gathered as much support as possible through his heroic deeds and charisma. Orlon showed these people the way of justice, a path carved out by a great holy light. In that light they would find strength and unity, and together the tribes rose up and took down Mordekaiser.

But Orlon's cause wasn't finished. With the Revenant finally put down he set about building a future for these united tribes. Taking his people far to the west he founded a new nation upon the loam untouched by undead taint, where the tenants of bravery, honour, courage and order would be the founding principles. He named this land Demacia, and from then on the Kingdom flourished.

DAMMIT RALANR you've got my hypothesising! I won't be able to stop thinking about this until we get confirmation on who the sod Orlon is! GAH!

But honestly I think it might be a god Demacian's believe in. I mean just because we never see the Demacains worship a god doesn't mean they don't have a religion. As well there are gods in Runeterra as we can see with Illaoi.

So...is her ignorance of her identity going to be a permanent feature of her? I really hope not, as it will get old rather fast. Where does she get money for her quest? What funds her along her journey? What will she do when she figures out she's the hero? What if she finds someone equally worthy of the hammer? Would Taric or Jayce be worthy of it? Does she have any agency in all this? What is her standard for worthiness of the hammer?

As lovely as the art is, I'm still bothered by the naivete and trepidation she has now. It doesn't seem to respect the original character very much and appears to be another retcon without advancing a story.

I would rather have her figure it out "cannonaly". And the new legendary skin could be "Oblivious Poppy" , in which she's looking for her car keys while she's holding them in her hand.

For money she probably caries the king's seal and eats for free because she is an ambassador given a quest by the King himself. She will never figure out she is the hero because she is too humble. If she found someone equally worthy of the hammer she would give it to them, return to the king, and probably go back to Bandle City after that. Neither Taric in his current form, nor Jayce in any form would be eligible to receive the hammer because Taric is from another world entirely, and Jayce is from Piltover, not Demacia.

I would also like to say that I know that Taric probably is from somewhere on runeterra because they removed the Sumoners who would have brought him from the other world, but his most likely origin is Ionia because sona(who is ionian) is listed as a friend.

I cannot answer your other two questions because I am not a red and don't have access to unpublished information. Everything I've said is what can be inferred from the information we have already been given.

Magic hammers can bestow quests, sometimes. They're also pretty cool for opening nuts, though you have to be careful which magic hammer you use, or it might turn every 4th one into a pigeon.

Poppy is either really freaking dense or killing giant monsters is natural where she comes from.

Also we get a look into valorian wildlife. Makes sense that people are stupid powerful when things like that exist.

All the more reason to learn how to utilize tools that allow for the beat down of enormous adversaries! Where your size is a detriment, look to other means, such as science or huge ass weapons to get your edge!

Poppy Does my heart good to see such a great champion being reworked into something that just seems so well thought out with utility and defensive prowess. I will happily take her as an aggressive support being picked into the troublesome Vayne, Graves, and other high mobility champions that will dive into an ADC.

This comic really shows what the new Poppy is about, not the old way of just laughing as you walk around the entire enemy team killing them all and just doing whatever you want. It shows that she is a passive aggressive champion diving in the protect others that cannot do it themselves, taking a protective peeling and even killing them to stop their aggression against others. Flash teleport for solo and supporting. Think of her as an anti engage aggressor champion capable of throwing the pesky front line tanks far away while she and the squishies dive into what little resistance waits. item 3143 item 3800 item 3060 item 3222 item 3111 item 2302 Will seem to be my go to support build for her, basically just peel and agro drawing attention guarding the ADC or carry.

Great comic. I haven't logged in for years but I figured I'd log in this once to express my appreciation for the new effort taken with a champion's rework.

Don't be afraid of making more comics for both new Champion releases or Champion reworks. Many players and fans of the game will appreciate them too.

Yah. Art aside, that was the only part of the comic I loved. It was closer to the old poppy than anything else about this update.

To be honest, they are shoving the "oblivious" aspect of her WAY too damn hard. They should have focused more on WHY she's refusing to see herself as the hero. There's some story behind that, if you ask me.

Make her resigned, world-weary, and emotionally scarred.... and yet still sticking grimly to their duty. Ya know, like Old Poppy did.

"Dad died? Well, best to suck it up and finish the job for him, then." It's what we loved about her.
