Does anyone else notice a significant similarity between GoT and the Shadow Isles lore? (Spoilers)

I've been thinking about it recently, and I've come to realize that the armies of the dead and their king are much alike Mordekaiser and the black mist. They both have 1 purpose which is destroy all life. Whenever life dies around them, it joins them. they're both led by 1 leader who calls all the shots and is the most powerful of them.

Mordekaiser deliberately turns allies against allies using his powers, same as the Night King, they both have (this is the spoiler) the ability to command a dragon to do their biddings as well. Has this not come to your minds lately? I'm actually quite stunned by how similar they are.
