Please give Sandstorm Kat her sand particles back

Souji··92 votes·2,594 views

I noticed since the assassin rework Sandstorm Kat doesn't have those sand effects when she uses skills like I see in old skin spotlights for the skin. (ex:the shunpo doesn't have that cool sandy after effect anymore) It would be really cool if Riot can give her back those effects. With the rework it just made the skin a bit less special. Or is there a reason they were removed...?

Part of clarity is that there's a spin effect and then individual knives that head to each champion. You could have a tornado centered around her but simulating the effect with the blade replacment in a good way might be tricky, I'm imagining some Gaara like sand spikes but I'm not sure how well it'd work with the animations. Cool idea tho

Talon Malzahar Deserve Sandstorm skins as well, fit the theme.

Give shadow prince malzahar the damn yellow particles in game like it shows in the splash and I'd be happy

Yesss. Sandstorm Talon please.

They were hardly noticeable honestly. It would be cool if they gave that skin some decent particle effects as the model on that skin is one of my favorites for her. They could either make actually noticeable sand effects or they could give it yellow-golden effects similar to ekko's. I'd be fine with either one.

EDIT: Sandstorm Kat also has the unique flipping animation during her taunt which I find really cool.

They were. And still are but doesn't change the fact shunpo is missing it's particles. :c

I must be blind cause I didn't even know it had any new effects at all before this post. I went and looked up the skin spotlight videos from all 3 iterations of her kit and I found them to be barely noticeable (clearly since I never noticed them before). And that's just it, shunpo was the most noticeable particle effect so I can see where you're coming from with it being gone. The reason might be because they had to add that red "dash" line to her shunpo to help enemies track her movements a little better with all the extra mobility she got with her update. Personally I think they'd be better off going full out gold effects like Ekko's cause sandy effects are just hard to see unless they really make more of an effort to make them more visible, such as getting rid of the red in the spell effects all together on that skin and just have sand effects.

I'd rather have them take a look at the sloppy Project skin they gave us after the rework. They got rid of the passive sfx, replaced the old W effects with the new ugly pink color and got rid of the old Q effects and sound which was way better in my opinion. I'm getting a bit off subject here but her skins pretty much look unfinished. Like, the only skin that got away with better particles and effects is the Slay Belle one.

I actually kinda like Project Kat. But I do see where you're coming from. Her skins could probably use a little bit of love.

What Kat also needs is her previous splash art back as well...

maybe ur settings are lower

I was going purely by the skin spotlights on youtube. I only just got the skin myself. It seems to be something quite a few people have noticed/or are upset about.

Also there are no flowers anymore in the warring kingdoms skin

There are some but it's not as noticeable I also want slay belle kat to have her old recall and the Christmas particles on her shunpo

Wait, they were removed? Haven't used that skin so didn't notice. That was the only reason I bought the skin.

Souji1 votes

Technically there are still some particles but coolest part is gone with her shunpo. And they aren't that noticeable.

I mean if you don't use the skin you probably wouldn't notice...

PaffWasTaken2 votes

The reason? Laziness from Riot of course

Also please make her taunt animation 60 FPS. Right now it runs at 60 FPS at a consistency of 20.

Especially since Sandstorm Katarina was my first ever skin and it was a present from Riot, I would definitely back this up. I also play quite a bit of Katarina.

It feels like all of her skins lost uniqueness in their visuals after the rework, I don't see much of a difference in any of the effects of her skins except on project.

Unfortunately Katarina got updated as part of a Class Update. Meaning like A LOT of other champions she suffered in regards to her skins not getting the attention they deserved. Unfortunately Class Updates always seem to follow the trend anyways. Which really sucks. Riot really undervalues how amazing skins are. At times I play champions because I love the skins they have, not just for the champion themselves. UNfortunately everytime Riot gets an opportunity to upgrade, they either don't or do the opposite.

Katarina saw her; Sandstorm skin lose it's particles. Slay Belle lose it's Shunpo Particles and other effects. Project saw a general decrease in quality. (Colors were toned down significantly) Warring Kingdoms saw it's effects toned down. On a side note she did see model changes for her Q. Where each skin with a different blade now throws that particular blade instead of her classic. Nice change but not worth losing Particle effects over.

Sejuani saw basically the exact same treatment when she got her sloppy VFX's updated. Hilariously enough Maokai saw ALL BRAND NEW VFX for every skin. Whereas Sejuani lost VFX. Was really a true example of Riots lazy and bias as fuck side.
Poro Rider lost it's Subtle Particle changes. Bear Cavalry losts SFX and her VFX became a recolor. A lot of her skins models saw a downgrade in quality due to Frost Armor obstructing the models. Unfortunately the skins team remained silent on the whole thing like usual.
