Rumble A Little Unsettling

I know he’s supposed to represent the fantasy of the dork—bullied but comes back with awesome mech and adorably trying to get the girl—but there’s a certain darkness to him.

His reputation for revenge, creation of a war machine to threaten his bullies, and seemingly relentless pursuit of Tristana make him seem vengeful, violent, and obsessive. The lack of exploration of the inner struggles that could explain that behavior make him seem menacingly flat-charactered. What do you guys think?
