Kindred are just the way the population of Runeterra looks at death. They are the same as our Grim Reaper.

No, Kindred can't die. Not until every living thing is dead that is, because death is only defined by life.

I'd imagine they can't exist without each other since they kind of represent the duality of death. Poof one the other goes with. Since the one you control is lamb I just call them she.

Until Riot actually comes with an answer, it entirely depends on how you interpret them. There have been several fictional universes where the personification of death is killed. What happens after is up to the writers.
